Barolo del Comune di Monforte'Alba Barolo Nebbiolo 2019

2019 vintage. Last tasted two years ago 4.3.24 (9.4). Dusty, decaying rose petals in the nose with a hint of quality dark chocolate. Medium body. Pink peppercorns aplenty, some tar, some grilled green onion, orange citrus influence (tangerine?) and Luxardo cherry reduction in the flavors. Only 4 bottles left on the list at $125 a bottle. May hafta take it off the list and buy it all. Currently occupying that weird Barolo space between drinkability and don't you dare. Flashing those tannic, Wolverine adamantium claws now. Leaning more towards the don't even think about it, Bub. This was delicious tho. 4.6.26. — 8 days ago

Modern, fresh, fruity, different beast than Cvne or LRA but I’m into it. — 6 months ago

Fossati La Morra Barolo Nebbiolo 2016

This wine pours a somewhat clear ruby red. It has a nice nose. The fruit is restrained. And after it’s been open for a little bit, the tannins really come through. This is an excellent wine that I got at Costco for $48. I would definitely re-buy it. It went well, although not a perfect match with the seafood linguine I had for my birthday at Mange Bene restaurant. #barolowine #italianwines #piedmontwines #nebbioli #costcowines — 14 days ago

Barolo Nebbiolo 2020

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 2020 pours a deep garnet color with a translucent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart fruits: Morello cherry, raspberry, cranberry, roses, tar, cool spices and dry earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. I found this bottle to be a little shy for the first 30min or so but opened up nicely by the end of our meal. Drink now through 2040. — 5 months ago

Usually interesting and fairly affordable. Solid Barolo primer.

Had at Heidis. VERY good.
Easy, full mouth but not heavy body, raspberry/cherry. Would be good with prosciutto and cheese, light food

Del Comune di La Morra Barolo Nebbiolo 2020

Really a lovely Barolo (esp for the price on an otherwise over marked wine list) and drinking quite well at this stage. The tannins are very present, but relatively fine grained. Pretty classic Nebbiolo fruit with great acid on the finish. Delicious. — 4 months ago

Castillo de San Diego Palomino Fina 2021

ask the wine guy for something unusual, something off the beaten path and he recommends this delicious dry 100% Palomino w/some bottle age: definitely a food wine, light greenish straw color w/fairly austere nose full of minerals, lanolin, herbaceous musk, white flowers (jasmine), ginger & some spices. on palate it is rigid & angular, zesty acidity, some citrus but mostly minerals & herbs, quinine, screams for briny foods - we had this w/deli section fare & salad. — 6 months ago
