Riserva Santa Caterina d'Oro Vigna di Pianrosso Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of three hours. The 2015 pours a beautiful garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and some tart red fruits: Morello cherry, raspberry, blood orange, black tea, red flowers, licorice, leather, exotic spices, and dry stony earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and savory. This needed about an hour in the decanter before it really began to strut its stuff but when it did, holy smokes, it was out of this world. A brilliant wine and a beautiful expression of Sangiovese and Montalcino. What a lovely treat. Drink now through 2045. — 11 days ago

Passorosso Terre Siciliane Nerello Mascalese 2022

Nose: blackberry flowers. Intense.

Palate: slightly tart blackberry fruit. Clean. Bright. A very well made simple wine. Grippy.

Long finish.

SP68 Bianco Terre Siciliane Albanello Muscat of Alexandria 2023

Nectarine in color. Vegetal, hay, barn-y on the nose - a very surprising aroma. Round mouth feel with pleasant acidity. Getting some grapefruit and citrus and meringue on the back end. Complex wine that pairs wonderfully with a light, pasta primavera. — 2 days ago

Munjebel Terre Siciliane Bianco Carricante Blend 2018

2018, opened in 2025. Delicious, golden almost orange hue, fresh fruits and citrus nose, balanced tannins and acidity, Etna crushed stone, juicy and super easily drinkable, yet still complex and interesting. — a month ago

Toscana Sangiovese Blend

Quite the surprise! The nose is just right there upon uncorking with a fresh berry scent that transcends right into the glass. This is a great wine just to sip or with tomato sauce, pasta and cheese and definitely a crusty bread. A real bargain. — 3 months ago
