Tenuta Col d'Orcia

Poggio al Vento Riserva Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

One of the best Italian wines I've had recently. Deep, juicy cherry and plum notes dominate. Well-rounded, elegant. Great with some chocolate or a lighter pasta dish with lean meat. — 24 days ago

Il Marroneto

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese

Really beautiful Brielle that shows so much complexity and character, very perfumy nose that developed and opened up over time and a great balance of fruit, floral/cedar notes and tannin on the palate. Tannins were very delicate but present and structured, really beautiful wine — 2 months ago

Excellent medium bodied dry red. Had with lasagna and paired spectacularly. — 3 days ago

Marchesi Antinori

Tenuta Guado al Tasso Il Bruciato Bolgheri Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2022

Paired with Bolognese sauce. Nice wine with food. 2022 vintage - really should have been decanted first. Solid depth and good fruit. Tannins hit up front a bit too much. — 24 days ago

La Spinetta

Il Rosé di Casanova Prugnolo Gentile - Sangiovese Rosé Blend

Lots of minerality, smells of petrol. Interesting yeasty undertones. Great for sipping, be cautious pairing with foods — 2 months ago

Poggio Antico

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

Nice but was hoping for a bit more refinement and balance. 15% which comes through only a bit. Still some rusticity. But the overall quality of the fruit is high. Would give it a couple more years at least. — a month ago

Tenuta delle Terre Nere

-Il Quadro delle Rose- Feudo di Mezzo Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese 2019

This has all the traits that make Etna Reds so attractive. Medium bodied , red fruited with pronounced minerality. Vines planted on the pure Ellittico lava flow terroir. Predominantly Nerello Mascalese. As many tasters previously have said of Etna Rosso, a hypothetical blend of Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir. I will leave my last bottle for a couple of years. — 2 months ago
