Surprisingly, I kinda liked this despite my aversion to overly-hopped beers. The nose is a straight up hop-bomb - floral, citrusy, piney. The palate's also full-on, with heaps of hoppy bitterness, but balanced by malty sweetness and tropical fruit notes (passionfruit and mango for me). Finishes crisp and earthy. Not bad, but not my kind of beer (not an IPA fan basically). — 7 years ago
A really well made beer but a little much for me. Tastes more alcoholic than the reported 7.2%. Hugely hoppy. — 9 years ago
Absolutely nothing wrong with this, couldn't taste the watermelon much tho. — 10 years ago

It’s been three years since my last review of this little slice of double trouble. Loose and thorny crown of creamy white with cartoon bone lacing plus bubble font. Golden overall, but reddish tinges turn it pink. Banana bread, with honey butter, a bit of molasses and orange marmalade scented, but the breakfast stops there. Healthy dollops of of honey buoy herbs de Provence, golden apple, juniper sharpness, lemon-arabica, pecan, and extra lavender. .

Hazy look of grapefruit with a few grenadine drops, and thick white crown that sits the throne like foam. Ladybug lacing. Sweet grapefruit, tangerine and lemon marmalade smells laced in leek, and green onion filaments; a healthy navel orange and persimmon. Buttered rum creaminess, turns pale with pith of grapefruit and Meyer lemon, then twists in a hint of pepper, lime peel and nutmeg pudding. The central theme is creamy orange, but porcupines with darts of intense citrus. Dangerously poised and hard to wrap your arms around. #topplinggoliath #fieldmuseum #topplinggoliathbrewingco #kingsue #kingsuedipa #ipa #doubleipa #dipa #beer #bier #biere #birra #iabeer #iowabeer #decorahia # — 7 years ago

Really amazingly good. Not that 471 already isn't somewhere in my top 20. This vaulted this one into the top 10. Already has been a hard day, so figured this was a good way to kick things off. Wine later...beer now!! Bourbon front and grapefruit and tangerine hop finish....ok by me! — 9 years ago
