Côte De Brouilly Gamay

Château Thivin

Famille Geoffray Côte de Brouilly Gamay 2023

So good. Deep, pure, excellent balance and refinement. Great lifting acid and a nice long finish. Gave it 8 hours of air. Just a preview of how nice this will be in several years! — 10 days ago

Cuvée La Chapelle Côte de Brouilly Gamay 2020

Mocha, tobacco and black cherry. Gentle tannins supporting a strong thick body, albeit a pinch of dry on the palate. — a month ago

Côte du Py Morgon Gamay

This wine is a mouthful. Just exploded in the mouth of minerals, iron, cherry/ raspberry and some dusty tannins to close. Keeps evolving. Prob should have decanted it from the start. — 2 months ago

Côte de Brouilly Gamay 2011

This aged Beaujolais is just gorgeous, crushed red berries, minerals, floral, great acidity, long, lingering finish, could easily evolve another 5 years in a cold cellar, truly an outstanding wine from a great Beaujolais vintage!! — a month ago

"Reverdon" Brouilly Gamay 2022

Very fruity. Strawberry, raspberry, and some gravel. More fruit depth than many beaujulais I’ve had. — 2 months ago

Vieilles Vignes Brouilly Gamay 2022

Brouilly, to me, is the fruitiest of the crus, and this is fruit in spades. So tangy and fruity. A bit of barnyard funk on the nose adds complexity. Very zingy and fruity in the mouth. Downright tangy!

UPDATE: After a couple hours of air, this is getting funkier and funkier. Clearly a low- or no-sulfite wine. I Vacuvin-ed a bit to see whether it will even be drinkable on night 2. My guess is it won’t be. (Further update: it was still good but it became clear to me that the funkiness was I was getting on night one was actually brett, which was somehow easier for me to identify the next night.)
