Côte De Brouilly Gamay

Georges Descombes

Brouilly Gamay 2021

Very tart, lip - smacking cherry juice. Would be lovely on the deck on a warm summer evening. Alas, it’s 25 and snowing, but nice nonetheless. Takes a little of the chill out of winter. — 17 days ago

This is much more backward and has a tannic edge to it, dark fruits, good length, I suspect that this will always show that tannic edge, big and richer than the Traboules, but I prefer the refined aromatics and balance of the Traboules tonight. — 2 months ago

Pretty volatile soon after pouring. Calmed down with some time in the glass. But still unlikely to please everyone. The carbonic maceration is evident. With all of this, I ended up finding it to be an interedting and enjoyable expression of terroir. — 2 months ago

Réserve Vieilles Vignes Côte Roannaise Gamay 2018

Ripe redfruits with stony minerality, nice acid and balance, medium-long finish, lovely Gamay from Cote Roannaise.

The Loire has hidden gems. Great winebar wines. 🙃
