Grapes from small Paso Robles AVAs blocks, aged in 75% new oak for 18 mos. Dark Ruby, aromas of sweet ripe black fruits & dried smoky tobacco spices. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry, blueberry, sweet cacao, espresso & vanilla oak. A big wine, fine tannins, long fruit finish ending with vanilla overwhelming fruit. 15% ABV has slight burn. — 3 years ago
Flinty, minerally, salty. Needs more time but a very fine Riesling with a long burn — 5 months ago
Color of dark purple. Nose of woody barrel, dark fruits, strength of alcohol, and more oaky note. Taste is smooth and sweet, low tannins, with slightly burn maybe due to being aged in oak barrel. Some more grapefruit, acidity, cocoa, spicy alcohol and sweet ripe fruits in the 2nd sip. Aftertaste definitely shows some warmth in the throat. Quite tasty at this price range. — 2 years ago
Cherries and red fruit, nicely crafted, exciting NZ PN — 7 months ago
A clear example of why I think that a les Suchots from the best producers is just as good a “grand” cru as its famous neighbors of across the little street. Yammy Bing cherries, full bodied, long burn. Simply delicious in a year that drinks beautifully now but can age as well. — 3 years ago
