Very good Malbec, especially for the price. Worth $20 to check out. — 3 days ago
This is a continuation of the wines that were at the fourth Friday gathering in Fort Worth, TX. As @Shay A mentioned there were too many wines to taste them all. Here are a few other great ones that Shay did not post.
Not sure who brought this wine but I enjoyed it. — 16 days ago
On this day, the doorstep to the weekend, Friday I have chosen the 2014 Saarloos & Sons Farmer Syrah.
The nose reveals lush dark fruit of blackberry, blueberry, black currant, chocolate, cured meat, clove, allspice, black olive and dark rich earth.
With the first sip the palate reveals beautiful fruit, blackberry, blueberry, black currant, licorice, mint, savory meat, black pepper, oak and dark rich earth.
This wine is full bodied with medium + acidity and medium + mouth coating crunchy tannins that pleasingly move into a long earthy finish. This is the day we all look forward to each week so please enjoy your weekend, stay safe and make it the best weekend ever. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 19 days ago
Another vintage of this and still full bodied with distinct Pinot flavours but backed up by sweet fruit and spice. Looks more like Cabernet in the glass, very nice. May not suit the California Pinot purists but I could see this being a good banker for a Christmas or thanksgiving lunch. — 12 days ago
Mer Soleil named after the two forces of nature – “the sea and sun.” Grapes sourced from vineyards in the southern and middle areas of Santa Lucia Highlands, deep Ruby with youthful aromas of red fruits and bits of smoky pepper spice. On the palate flavors of cranberry, raspberry and tart cherry with toasty pepper spice, savory, good mouthfeel. Medium+ finish, fine tannins well integrated ending with fruit and a toasty oak character. Tasting Sample! — 4 days ago
