Not had wine from this producer before, but I adore this vineyard, and at a close out price, I wanted to give it a try.
As expected for Bien Nacido, there was a savory note on the nose with some smoked meat and iron, wrapped around rhubarb tart and candied black cherries. On the palate, it was quite light and semi acidic, with hardly any finish. I’m assuming there was a small use of whole cluster here due to the spice and lifted profile, but aside from that, it was fairly easy going with potpourri, bing cherries, and some cedar. — 10 days ago
13’Clendenen Family Vineyards. Le Bon Climat Pinot Noir.
Color - Pale Ruby
Palate- Fresh picked strawberries, a splash of spices & tobacco. Perfect amount of acidity, tannins are soft & approachable. Certainly one of the best PN’s I’ve had out of California in the last 12 mo.
Sensational bottle of wine. Recommended highly. — 13 days ago
Beautiful deep garnet color with hints of red plum, pomegranate, cranberry, cinnamon and some smoke on the nose. Elegant tastes of red and blue fruit enhanced with a nice element of white pepper giving the wine a great spicy boost. Perfectly balanced with a great long and spicy finish. — 13 days ago
A blend of 47% Syrah, 28% Cab Sauv and adding Cab Franc, Sangiovese, Viognier, Petit Verdot & Metlot. Deep Ruby with complex aromas of dark fruit, spice, almonds and wet earth. On the palate blackberry, currant and raspberry flavors, soft tannins on a long finish ending with leather, pepper and oak tones. Very Nice, a beauty. — 8 days ago
