Nicely made and exuding character. Nose has bright, deep plummy fruit, along with nice, fragrant spice and a wisp of smoke. Mouthfilling, pure fruit on the palate, with a light touch, finish turns savory and shows lots of stony minerality. Nice acids and a bit of soft, chalky tannin comes out at the end. Terrific value. — 3 years ago
Slightly carbonic but delicious. Ripening pineapple, white stone fruit and an unfiltered appearance… My friend Elias Fernandez at Shafer loves this one as well… @Paul T- Huntington Beach @Shay A @Stanley Barrios @Shauna Summers @Jim Trobaugh @Neal Schaffer @Ian Blackburn @Warren Sapp — 2 years ago
Gran descubrimiento vino con carácter pero nobleza sobre paladar. Romántico rojo rubi al ojo del buen conocedor. — 3 years ago
This says Reserva.
I didn’t know.
But… that’s some Spanish old vine Tempranillo w French barrique aging(24 mo.) hell, you could have left it in there another 24.
N: Really smells like dirt and tobacco. Black plums way back there. A Big, black nose of reined in funk.
P: Tannin city, charcoal, prunes, really begs for protein, skillfully done.
Next time, 2hrs in a decanter.

Dark ruby in color with wide brick rim.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing red currants, cherries, earth, black coffee, licorice, oak, black tea, tobacco leaf, herbs and light black pepper.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 63 year old Tempranillo from Rioja is still drinking nicely, although obviously not at its peak.
Soft and elegant with a nice mouthfeel. Nicely balanced and elegant. Tangy and interesting.
Still has enough fruits in it to last another 10 years. Not showing as much complexity as I expected, but it's always nice to try these kind of old wines.
I enjoyed it very much, all by itself.
A blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha. Aged in French oak barrels for 3 years. Recorcked by the winery a few years ago. Only 400 bottles made.
12.5% alcohol by volume.
91 points.
