One of my favourite Dolcettos. It's bit more uptoned and acidic when compared to 2018 or 2017 but has all the typical dark fruits, spices and licorice just as supposed. This lasted untill 3rd day when it had gained weight significantly. Great food friendly dolcetto that needs bit more bottle age to shine — 21 hours ago
Darker than the Langhe Nebbiolo and Pelaverga tried on same weekend and more purple than the Langhe Friesa. Compared to Burlotto’s Aves Barbera which is aged in wood, this is a lighter interpretation. Although I understand the best Barbera fruit goes into the Aves don’t underestimate this as it is bright and pure with the same plum accent. Nice — 15 hours ago
Wine full of juicy fruit, packed with loads of joy. Red fruit, sweet cherry, some leather, lots of lavender and violets. Mild tannins, soft acidity, medium long finish. Wine made for easy evening, good for pizza and cold cuts. — 6 days ago
Bought at Provisions on Van Horne, 42$, restaurant price, but they gotta survive the pandemic! Bright and delicious, had it with maple mustard drumsticks and The Third Man.
Plonk: “This classically styled, certified organic and biodynamic Barbera hails from the region of Alba in Italy's Piemonte. Leading with dusty tannins and mouth-watering acidity, this bottling opens up into a savory palate filled with alluring notes of leather, bittersweet chocolate, red cherry and red currant flavors.
