heavy pencil shavings and cigar smoke on the nose. black olive and green bell pepper too. color is definitely what you’d expect in a 20 year old wine. palate is consistent with nose, very bordeaux-lite. heavy cigar box. a lot of olive and herb tapenade character. some black pepper on the finish too. very savory overall. — 3 days ago
What a treat. Showing its age. Darker than you’d expect given it’s a war vintage. Tea colored at the edges. Soft, faded fruit. Orange rind, some dried herbs, mushroom, black tea, cured meat. Some dried wood, dried roses. A slight tart tang. Softening out and adding done delicate sherry notes with time in the glass. An amazing wine given the age. Certainly not a powerhouse but really special- a taste of history — 13 days ago
I really enjoyed this wine. Smooth, tasty with a nice finish. I'll be having it again. — 14 days ago
Holding up really well. Candied fruit, some cassis notes from the rare Cabernet Sauvignon dominant vintage. — a month ago

Taken to Bicyclette in Carmel. Gave it 5 hrs in a decanter. Dark but bright red color. Amazing nose. Notes of black and red fruit, slate stone, spice, menthol and dark soil. Perfect balance of fruit, structure and acidity in the mouth. Tannins mostly softened. This was in the zone. Easily had 10-15 more years of peak enjoyment in front of it. Bravo! — 5 days ago
