Wanted something to go with carnitas tonight. Not sure if this will pair well, but it is very tasty. I stole a premature sip while the meat cooks. Lots and lots of berries, tart, blue and red. I smell Syrah. Bright acidity, medium tannins. Terroir, stone. It feels a little Old World.

Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (72%), Merlot (19%), Cabernet Franc (6%) and Petite Verdot (3%). Dark garnet/ruby/purple/black color. Aromas of ripe black fruit, rose petals, cigar box and smoked meat. Flavors of blackberry, black currant and black plum fruit with additional hints of tobacco, black olives and cloves. Long lasting velvety finish. Full bodied with noticeable (but well integrated) tannins. Beautiful freshness. Rich and powerful but so well balanced. Consistently outstanding vintage after vintage. Could continue to age for decades! — 14 days ago
I thought I had pulled a pure Cab but this went great with the steaks and was really nice. Heady on the nose. — 9 days ago

This wine and this vintage definitely punches above its weight. Soft yet structured - reminds me (almost!) of what a Don Melchor offers… — a month ago
Consistently excellent Bordeaux-style red blend
(Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc)
Fruit forward cherry, plum, blackberry, with a nice oakey finish

Haven’t had this in at least 15 years, why 🤷🏼♂️. But they were clearing out several vintages at $30.00, I should have bought a full case. Opened last night to try a glass, decanting the rest today.
