This is a very big wine. Very big. Still a lot of structure and tannin to last. A bit angular and I would say not completely together. Since this is 2009 vintage in 2021, it may never completely harmonize. But huge fruit and a big mouthful of wine if that is your style. Needs a hearty dish. — 4 years ago
Ruby with aromas dark red fruits and floral spice. On the palate black cherry, blackberry and plum flavors with cedar, pepper and vanilla spice. Big, yet soft tannins, long finish well balanced with acidity ending with fruit, cedar and floral spice. Nice! — 4 years ago
Big and powerful Syrah. Make sure you decant this one. Dark blue and black brambly fruit. Black pepper and licorice. Hint of earth and chocolate. Dark purple color and very long finish. If you are a bold Syrah fan, this will satisfy you. Very pleasant! Very consistent producer. — 6 years ago
Big, rich, and structured. Spiced pear pie.
14 months in French oak, 45% new. Will likely be better in 3-5 years. — 2 years ago
Outstanding, and still young, easily will improve over the next few years. On par with favorite Martinellis and Turleys, though lower alcohol and not quite as big. Still plenty of complexity and rich black fruits. — 4 years ago
Wow wow wow. Big Bang citrus with lemon and grapefruit fruit. Very little oak if any. Maybe neutral barrel aging. Long, long finish. Acidity perfectly balanced. — 5 years ago
Big bold Rutherford Cabernet. What could be better ? — 6 years ago

2007 vintage. Tasting 17+ years later... On the nose, this is blackberry syrup and black cherry flesh... On the palate, there is an acidic wispiness of cherry much like the kirschiness of cherry pits soaked in vodka... A big body here though as this plays above a powerful leatheriness that extends well through the long finish. Tannins still have something to say. Grippy. I haven't had this vintage in a few years and it will be interesting to see whether the amazing-in-youth '08 also carries this well into its elder years. This '07 was a very nice treat so many years on. — 3 months ago
