Really lovely Lirac, Grenache and Syrah show mostly, the proprietor (Rodolphe des Pins) (in my opinion!!) dragged his feet too long in joining the Lirac appellation, but his wines have LONG been undervalued and are fantastic at their pricepoint, I personally have more bottles of this, which I expect to age well!! — a day ago
Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (78%), Petite Verdot (6%), Carmenere (6%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Syrah (5%). Dark ruby color. Aromas of blue and black fruit, slate, and cedar wood. There was also a slight hint of green pepper that blew off rather quickly. Flavors of ripe blue and black berries/cherries, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and caramel. Touch of Asian spice on the long and persistent finish. Nicely balanced and quite fresh. Powerful and complex, but quite elegant at the same time. Appreciate the bottle, Kase. — 2 months ago
always a stunning bottle of white Rioja from Baron de Ley. So much fun for a great price… — 6 months ago
Visited this property in 2017. It’s not that far outside of Santiago. Maybe a 40-45 minute drive from town.
94+ with appropriate aging.
A wine that deserves more attention in the US but doesn’t likely because it is Chilean. I’ve traveled to every wine region of relevance to know there are many world regions that produce high quality wines. This one a Rothschild property.

A big Rioja. Surprisingly ready to drink, tanins have softened, still powerful. Dark garnet color, aromatic nose of earth and herbs. Round Palate balanced and tasty. Recommended. Great VfM. — a month ago
Typical California Chardonnay from the Russian River Valley, Sonoma. Buttery, creamy, vanilla-driven and oaky on the nose thanks to its fermentation and aging process for 12 months in French and American oak barrels.
Definitely shows expression of the Russian River Valley's distinctive climate that provides lime and tropical fruits with some camomile and other white flowers to most of Chard’s sourced from there. The savory notes mixed with ripen apricot and baked pineapple makes it really refreshing and interesting. A bit toasty to my preference, but appreciate its weight and intensity on the finish and general decent overall as a mouthfeel. — 2 months ago

The 3rd wine at the First Growth Bordeaux lunch at the Downs Club last Saturday. My contribution to the lunch. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. Opulent and Powerful. The experts say this is a 50 year wine and tasting it now at 39 years currently it will definitely not have an issue reaching 50 years. Mint, spice and black fruits. The masses of dry tannins 20 years ago are starting to resolve. Jancis wondered in 2004 if they would ever soften. I have one left which I hope to drink on its 50th birthday in 2036 if I am still around. This was the oldest wine in the lineup and also the most robust. — 23 days ago
