Pinkish Italian wine, very well developed. Reminds me of a rombauer or earthquake zin. Solid. Only drink if you want something deep, rich, and complex. Pairs very well with green grapes and crackers, but not a dry aged steak or seafood. Not a heavy drinking wine.

This is how a Lange should taste. Juice well integrated tannins, well balanced. And impressively long — 5 years ago
Wow, extraordinary! — 6 years ago
Tasted in a flight of 2006s, it was hard to choose between this one at the Roche. Both great! — 20 days ago
Medium garnet color with a slight pink meniscus. Aromas of anise, tar, dried rose petals and black cherry jam. Flavors of dark cherry, blackberry and bramble berry fruit, black licorice, tobacco and mushrooms. Hints of minerals and baking spices on the long finish. Mouth watering acidity. Full bodied and firm but the tannins are beautifully integrated. Wonderful structure and complexity. Sincerely appreciate Petey and Kasey for sharing this wonderful bottle. — 5 months ago
A fine Barolo from La Morra, with Curly, Garcias and Leone. 90 euros, — 9 months ago
Fruit sourced from five vineyards, Brunate, Liste, Cerequio, Cannubi and Raviole. Medium Ruby red color with aromas of red fruit, earthy spices, floral and cedar. On the palate flavors of sour cherry and raspberry with notes of floral, smoky tobacco, vanilla and oak. Long finish, nice balance with fine soft tannins, ending with an earthy character. Needs a few years in the bottle! — 2 years ago
2022/4/24-25. Side-by-side with with 2017 Brunate. This is slightly darker, with more black cherry and blackberry, tar and roasted spice. That being said, the differences are surprisingly subtle. Again, extremely young and severe. — 4 years ago
The aroma has a such a powerfully sculpted personality that the structure seems not sufficient to support it. It is also highly controlled and contained, every detail is clear and well-defined, just like many of the greatest wines in Piedmont, Burgundy and Bordeaux. Just lacks the last degree of spontaneous volatility that defines the magic in wine. — 5 years ago
Drank with Joe and Melissa — 3 months ago
This pours a thin tawny brown colour, dirty cherry, almost transparent, bordering on orange on the rim. A floral red fruited nose. Palate is just medium weight with mulchy strawberry flavours of medium plus intensity. Finishes dry with great length. Very impressive. See previous note from August 2024. — 9 months ago
A great Italian red, made by the same people as Barolo. Shhh, it’s a secret! — 2 years ago

2017 vintage. FLB fodder. Decanted and tasted after 15 mins, 45 mins and 1.25 hours. Medium body. Fairly muddy color. A parlor trick of rose petals and tar up front with a battle to the death, both mid and end palates, between chalk and dark chocolate. Chalk won. Not what I would call refined but made up for that with plenty of rusticity/old school/authenticity vibes. Apparently, I liked it more than anyone else here but a bonus .2 for the retro-stylings.
