Medium straw colour . Quite lean and focused on the nose at first , white stone fruits , peach , apricot , blanched almonds, sage . On the palate quite rich and creamy , just balanced acidity with good intensity of similar fruits to the nose , white peach , touch of apricot, with a herbal touch on the finish. A little bit fat , with the alcohol showing through a little , but with ok length and balance overall. The following day this shows a little better balance , and integration . The texture of this wine is made for food and will probably age quite well over the next 5 or so years — 8 days ago

On the nose, this is cherry and blueberry... On the palate the cherry is concentrated... The blueberry is also there... Savory, fatty... The tanning here is medium and chewy... The bright, fruity finish is just medium but the tannin lingers long... I quite like this tannin effect here. I paired this with crackers and an aged Gouda, but really I think this could have paired with a variety of foods. Decent acidity to hold its own against a variety of foods as long as they're kept simple. — 3 months ago

The 2020 Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Balciana is a deep golden color in the glass. It opens with a delicate bouquet that blends opulent ripe peach and custard notes with refining hints of lemon oil and crushed stone. It’s silky and enveloping, elegance to the extreme. Tropical citrus elevates the ripe orchard fruits, and a salty mineral core adds tremendous depth. Long, long, long, the 2020 lingers on, youthfully tense, with a staining of tart citrus rind and minty herbs that resonate. The ripeness of the vintage shows through, yet Sartarelli has managed to pack this with gobs of balancing tension. (Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2024)

Medium purple in color; raspberries, cherries, and dried herbs on the nose; low acidity; medium minus tannins; tastes like tart cherry jolly ranchers, raspberry sauce, and black tea with a long fruity finish. There may be a little residual sugar in this wine, but it's still very good. It's easy drinking for anyone that likes sour candies. It could use a little more acidity. The 2022 Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore entices with a remarkably pretty blend of wildflowers, lemon sorbet and gingery spice. Soft textures soothe the palate as saline mineral tones contrast ripe orchard fruits. Citrus traces add tongue-curling tension toward the close. The 2022 finishes long and perfumed, leaving cheek-puckering hints of sour lime that keep the mouth watering for more. Despite the warm vintage, the balance here is otherworldly.
