Pertimali (Livio Sassetti)

Fili di Seta Toscana Sangiovese Blend 1995

A great find! Dark Ruby color, no hints of bricking. Nice red fruits, good acid, a bit of mushroom/forest floor. — 3 months ago

Cerbaia Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2016

Salvia, dusty, black cherry. Lifted, fine, persistent minerality. Estate is situated just above Pertimali, and the young proprietors work for Sassetti. Pure class, as you’d imagine in such a situation. Fantastic! #cerbaia #rossodimontalcino #sangiovesegrosso — 6 years ago

Pertimali (Livio Sassetti)

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

2019 vintage. On the heels of the excellent 2015 and 2016 vintages, the acclaimed 2019 was already behind the 8-ball. After tasting approx 60-65 2019 Brunellos, they are good but generally lacking that extra level of oomph that the ‘15’s and ‘16’s have. This is an exception. Blind tasting it, woulda flagged it for 2015-2016. 8.28.24. — 3 months ago

Colle Argento Spumante Rosé Blend

Jed
9.1

Hell yes. Delicate, balanced big refreshing bubbles for summer. This Italian sparkler from the Veneto is comes from master Barolo-maker Livio Sassetti as part of his war against over-sulfured Italian bubbles. Pink pomegranate, candied tangerine peel and guava notes with a hint of plum - from the Merlot, no doubt. Elegant, zesty and flamboyant with an in-your-face creamy finish. Extra-dry spumante, like extra-dry Champagne, is in the range we call "off-dry" in absolute terms. For reference, wine that is still in the absolute dry category can have up to 9 grams of residual sugar; this wine has 12; cocacola clocks in at 110. — 7 years ago

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2010

It’s a little flat to me. Not much of a note or finish. — 3 months ago

A solid 93+ with upside potential with further aging. Particular fine nose. Hope that the palate will follow the nose in the coming years. — 4 months ago

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2011

Classic Brunello. Ripe plum, some oak and alcohol. Dusty tannins and medium acidity makes this ready out of the gate. — 7 years ago
