Always enjoyable with pear and apple notes. Opening wine for SJOS Tasting I hosted — 2 months ago
At first a blast of dark fruit, plum, blueberries, black currants and violet. Then a hint of green pepper then chocolate and wood. Super smooth integrated tannins, tiniest bit grippy at the end. Finish is loooong. Later as it opened some black tea also. Super. — a day ago
Excellent wine from Gibsons. Thanksgiving 2024 with family (Rubin’s). Not much body but excellent mouth feel — 2 months ago
Decanted for about nine hours. Fresh raspberries, cherries, and a bit of mushrooms. Very elegant. Full-bodied, but not quite as powerful as other Barolos I’ve had over the years. — a month ago

Trader Joe’s. Long gone! For 15$ quite good! This is the 2019 - one of the best vintages in Piedmont. So - in this case even lousy cheapo wineries made great wine. Tastes like 40$. Roses, super astringent, violets. Hint Eucalyptus. A little rough: Bought a case most gone should have bought 2 - will age the last 3 bottles just out of curiosity - could go another 5-10 years. Thanks Scott for this find!!! — 2 months ago

Another solid vintage of this consistently well made wine. Dark ruby/purple color. Intense aromas of blue and black fruit, red and purple flowers and wet stones. Blackberry, boysenberry and plum fruit on the palate with additional flavors of coffee and minerals. Long and earthy finish. Deep and dark concentration. Medium bodied and very silky tannin structure. Mouth watering acidity. Food friendly. Very good representation of the varietal. Thanks for sharing, Keith S! — 17 days ago
