2016 vintage. This estate was bought by Amélie Osmond and Victor Mischler in 2015, so this should be their very first vintage in full control. A very good start for these neophytes with this blend of 75% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc that displays ripe cherry fruit, spices and some smokiness. It has good concentration and a serious ripe tannin structure, balanced acidity and good length. Provides a lot of drinking pleasure now, but should age well and gain additional complexity. This is the second wine I’ve had from this Alsace domain and the second wine where the purity and freshness are almost profound. Gorgeously pure nose has ripe appley Pinot Blanc fruit, accentuated by light spice notes, straw, and moist gravelly earth. Intense but very soft and friendly fruit in the mouth. Again, superb purity (apparently the domain farms biodynamically). Decent acids and a fresh finish that has a little herbal thing. Not complex — it is Pinot Blanc, after all — but very satisfying for a weekday white. — 3 years ago

Brassy gold color. Classic Alsace nose has petrol-like notes, crushed stone, and golden delicious apple fruit. Smells fresher than the color suggests. Bone dry, with intense crushed stone minerally flavors, bright fruit underneath, and swept along by crisp, mouthwatering acids. Could certainly go a few more years. Nicely done! — a year ago

F’ me this is great! Biodynamic too. Like a vintage champs, maybe more interesting from diff varieties. Heard from north Berkeley it’s Pinot Blanc. Why there is not more PB sparkling, I have no idea. Love. — 15 days ago
