Costs d’Amalfi Ravello 2025. Pale straw coloration. On the nose delicate lemon and citrus and pear/ fresh acidity. On the palate, delicate citrus and pear. Some minerality. — 2 months ago
Excellent with a completely outrageous chunk of bleeding super quality angus beef — 4 months ago
Deep Ruby with a slightly tawny rim. This would’ve been red fruited with raspberries in its youth but much more savoury at 25 years of age with just a trace of dried raspberry. A slight tarry note on the back palate which is totally balanced and a class act. With more air there were aromatics of a little pipe tobacco, leather and even boot polish Barb thought. Fine yet firm tannins. A privilege to drink this famous wine from a good vintage. — a month ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course a few hours. The 2024 Contra Costa County pours a ruby/purple color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is youthful and fresh with notes of bright tart, brambles, black cherry, black pepper, purple flowers, some black pepper and inorganic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from nose. This finish is medium+ and loaded with minerals. Distinctive and full of energy. Blood orange and cloves as well as cherries in the nose. A bit of vanilla as it opens up. Tastes of tangerine and clove with a sweet cherry after taste. — a month ago
Upon opening, VERY bitter and strong. Have to let this one open. Upon opening got pretty good. Similar flavour to the previous rioja I’ve had many times that I love, but this is just more of it and much stronger and more flavourful. Not sure that I want that out of a wine, pretty sure I’m not willing to pay more for it. Not sure if I should attribute that to the wine or its age (oldest bottle I have yet tried).
Lighter and easier drinking reds are my preference at the moment. Maybe I will feel differently and prefer the stronger flavours once I am more seasoned into wines as I’ve become with scotch.
Definitely will return to this bottle if that becomes the case, otherwise prefer other favorites or to try new wines at the price.
It’s really not a bad wine. A lot of flavour and a lot going on.… I highly suspect I just am not able to fully appreciate what it is giving me at this point in my wine journey. — a month ago

This is a serious wine - understated, tannic, alot going on. Agree w other reviewers that this vintage may be a bit young to crack open - didn't feel fully integrated yet. — 9 days ago
