In one fell swoop kick off the sandals, throw off the shirt, hop skip across sun-baked flat tile stones and dive with a swan’s assurance into the seaside swimming pool, warmed only by the elements, and just as mysterious, elusive and temperamental…….

High fruit, blackberry, red currant. Mid-strong vanilla. High tannin and medium high acidity. The finish is quite long. Extremely nice wine for the price point. — 6 years ago
Nose has ripe blackberry, mashed blueberry, light cedar, spring voilets and tanned leather.
Palate has rich (!!) chocolate covered blackberry, mullberry, blueberry seeds, blackberry jam, moist earthy loamy soil and wet sand.
In a very nice spot tonight after a 4-hour decant. A perfect pair alongside local, grass-fed beef patties on a super hot grill, great crust and warm middle.
Also a great accompaniment to Robert Glasper's newest project, R+R=Now, Collagically Speaking, a great West Coast style jazz album, keeping with the Glasper-style, but adding some serious players surrounding him. On Blue Note for this release, so serious respect from the industry. — 7 years ago
2022 vintage. A tad gratuitous. Above average structure, intensity and length of finish. You could do a helluva lot worse with village Chassagne. Picked up two cases for the resto as this hits the sweet spot for price to quality ratio. It’s a well-worn, greatest hits album without hidden tracks/surprises. No pushing of the envelope here. Scratches that white Burg with fleshy oak and tangy fruit itch. 9.10.25. — 10 months ago
Paired with Midlake’s Van Occupanther. A perfect pairing. The complexity is a 91, but with the album it calcifies the memory of both. As for the actual wine, the cork was dry, but the wine is alive, — 3 years ago

Rich, deep take on CDR. Powerful dark fruited aromatics which follow to the palate. This has the strawberry summertime character of the Grenache, but anchored & structured with darker fruit & moderate structure. Great with grilled stuff tonight. This album is one of the finest releases of 2019. It sounds just like a classic Tropicalia album from Veloso or Gil than something so new. If you like Brazilian music, get this. — 7 years ago
Fathers Day in style. One of my very favorite wines from anywhere. Clos Canarelli Corse Figare Rose. It’s simply exuberant, but has a fresh, thirst quenching character to it as well. It takes a special bottle to pair with this album which I received as a Father’s Day present. The one and only recording from Michael O’Shea who played a self made 17 strong dulcimer of sorts and was encouraged by members of The The and Wire to record this in the early 80’s. Both have a soulful mystery to them which make for a wonderfully introspective time on an introspective day. I love that my family humors these little obsessions and shares them with me. — 7 years ago
Straightforward, tasty sparkling Chenin. Creamy texture for a sub $20 bottle with good acidity & complex yeasty flavors. Nose is a tad muted, but no big deal. Drank while listening to the brand new Cate Le Bon album which could end up as one of the best releases of 2019. — 7 years ago
I've already reviewed the 2020, so I'll keep it brief. I've been a big fan of this wine for 12 years. It is one of my go-to Italian reds when I am having friends over for a feast. And this bottle is tasting great without a feast.
Listening to Phil Keaggy. (Check out his album Beyond Nature. Phil is the greatest guitarist I've ever met, and he's one of the best in the world) — a year ago

Try this with a vintage album, such as Chicago Transit Authority circa 1969. Carries a bouquet of angry leftist rebellion with just a hint of “the world is watching”. Damn good wine. — 4 years ago

Love this night in and night out. Funny thing this time - on the nose there is something that won’t go away - remember when you would open a new album? Remember that smell? Not vinyl. No other way to describe it. Just very interesting. Very fresh smelling. Plenty of citrus too. Palate very nice and the album scent not there on the palate. Finish a little different than normal. Still nice. — 6 years ago
Deep golden amber skin contact Italian white, made with Albana grapes. Was real sexy but I got distracted listening to our freshly opened Bright Eyes Cassadaga vinyl and geeking out over how amazing every song is and all my deepest life memories this album has guided me through with my husband — 7 years ago
New Rioja producer for me. Spicy oak across the nose & palate with some layers of red fruit & fresh acidity. Tannins aren’t terribly forward on such a young Reserva, but there is good grip here. This skirts the line between classical & modern Rioja. Very good. Fear of Music has some of my very favorite Talking Heads songs, but is edged out by Remain in Light as my favorite album of theirs. That is really splitting hairs as they were creating at a level not many other artists ever reach. — 7 years ago
Otherworldly beauty from Jessica Pratt and Pascal Janvier. This album has a haunting quality to it, but it haunts in an addictive way. The songs feel familiar, but they keep a uniqueness that sounds fresh every time I play it. If you don’t own this record, buy it. Janvier’s Silex is everything to love about Chenin. It’s crisp & approachable, yet has countless layers of aromatics & simultaneously shows a basket of fruit and an ethereal transparent weight. This is just amazing tonight. — 7 years ago

Blend of Petit Verdot and Alicante Bouchet, and a little bit of Syrah and Aragonez. Plum, mint, boysenberry on the nose. Medium and structured tannins. Fruit forward and light bodied. Rather unusual for this blend of wines. — 9 months ago
