Thought it was a nice bottle especially for $60.00,
Absolutely incredible opportunity on this creamy, supple Blanc de Blancs that still has great focus and precision and superior, long, mineral finish. Like all of the Thienot vintage wines, this bottling is entirely estate grown from the family's nearly 70 acres of vines. From the winery: "In 1985 Alain Thiénot launched his eponymous Champagne House, driven by his experience as a courtier and close-knit relationships with Champagne growers. This was quite a challenge in a sector where the greatest names began their existence as early as the 18th century. Never willing to compromise on quality or expertise, Alain Thiénot has transformed this vision into one of his key strengths. From this point forwards, using a strategy targeting the gastronomy sector, he has successfully conquered markets in France and abroad. He has passed on this passion and vision to his children, Garance and Stanislas, who decided to join the family business in 2003. With its resolutely modern philosophy, the most recently established, privately owned and family-run Champagne House continues its expansion." — 7 months ago
Last three years this had been my fav domestic rose. Light salmon pink... but nice Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre blend. Nice weight on the palate... strawberry, rhubarb, cranberry, watermelon bites... juicy, dry, balanced. I have been pretty well over rose the past couple years... but I really find this one head and shoulders above most. Bravo Stephen Assao...I value your wines, your vision, your passion. — 5 months ago
David Sinegal who put together a team of winemaking all-stars to bring their vision to life, a blend of 93% Cab Sauv, 5% Petit Verdot & 2% Malbec, deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, floral spice and some cedar. On the palate rich fruit flavors of blackberry and black cherry with notes of smoky oak, tobacco and cacao. Well balanced with acidity, nice mouthfeel with fine juicy tannins ending with fruit and earthy character. Nice will age well! — 6 months ago
Notes from Sensus Wine: 25-55 year old Syrah planted in calcareous clay, 21 day skin contact, fermented in 228L Bourgogne barrels of 3rd-15th pass.
Tasting notes: structured and still incredibly fresh. It's Syrah, but it's not too over the top. Tannins and fleshy characteristics are balanced, and the acids on this are overall very buoyant. I was expecting more funk, but this bottle is incredibly clean and very fruit focused.
In all, it's a Calek wine, and every bottle I've had from him is full of personality, vision, and intent. — 7 months ago
I forget what I pay for some of these new ones I’ve never had.
Opened and tasted before I looked it up. Not bad for $15.00
I was hoping I didn’t pay over $30.00
Rooted in the vision of winemaker Derek Rohlffs, Bravium is a study in patience and a mindful connection between land and wine. It's all about the connection between vineyard and what goes in the glass. "Terrior is a gift." Winery note: "This bright and balanced wine perfectly reflects the cool-climate Russian River Valley vineyard where it was grown. Brilliant yellow-gold in color, with fresh tree and tropical fruit aromas that are highlighted by candied apple, ripe peach, pineapple, brioche, lemon oil, white flowers, and sea spray. The wine opens with gorgeous sweet apple and pineapple fruit flavors, with vanilla and honeycomb notes. A finely-textured, invigorating mouthfeel, with a generous mid-palate and medium-plus acidity, is framed by crisp fruit and subtle oak-derived flavors. Hints of herbal tea give way to flinty minerality and refreshing acidity. The complex flavors linger on the finish of this racy and lively Chardonnay." — 5 months ago
Fairly ripe and extracted vision of RRV PN. Fruit fwd but not overblown in the least. Made well but not really my jam at 14.5%. A lot of people like this style tho. Red fruits and root beer. Decant, smoke a big doob, and pair with a big ass pot roast and some taters for a good time — 7 months ago
Elegant and mysterious SB Grenache with surprising complexity. Shadowy dark fruit- blackberry, raspberry, plum; perfumed dried flowers, incense, sweet baking spices, black tea; dark rich earth, gravel, black pepper. Light in body and color, packs an aromatic punch. Immediately bought another bottle - insane value at $25. Looking forward to trying some of her more specific bottlings to see where this vision leads. — 2 years ago
