Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2015 “Southing” pours a deep ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and bruised strawberry, raspberry, pomegranate, red flowers, mushroom and fine baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. Drink now through 2035. — a month ago

I'm either in love with this Chard or the company BOTH! Al. Kidding aside this wine's nose is intoxicating faint grass then gives away to pineapple with vanilla crime brûlée tropical! On the palate rich mouth coating with great citrus maybe a warm lemon curd with a salty flaky crust, very balanced tannins already integrated in this chard. Well done Seasmoke! — 11 years ago

This wine is the Nawari (not found on Delectable) Intense Pinot Nero. Like a super ripe Cali Seasmoke on steroids, with a healthy dose of smoky volcanic ash. Enjoyable but big, big, big! And not especially complex...but fun and interesting just the same... — 7 years ago

Petaluma Gap sounds windswept and barren but this is rich and as full a domestic Pinot as I can handle before I say, "fu*k this give me Burgundy". Hits classic notes of sweet red cherry, cinnamon spice and orange peel with good length and just enough acidity to balance 14.2% ABV. This is the perfect middle ground for California Pinot maybe, right between those who shoot for 'tastefully underripe' and the Martinelli/SeaSmoke/GuyFieriFlavortown contingent. — 9 years ago
