Brownish in color with a wide brick rim.
Light nose of blueberries, raspberries, light oak, earth, wet leaves, blood, herbs, black pepper, iron, licorice and spices.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blueberries, cherries, licorice, light oak, earth, wet leaves, vegetables and black pepper.
Long finish with big tannins, yet fine, and tangy cranberries.
This is a nice surprise. This 16 year old is drinking very nicely now, and has at least 10 years in it.
Showing nice complexity with a nice, soft mouthfeel. The nose is strong and smells like blood, which is interesting.
I loved the intensity of the mouthfeel, but I expected more complexity at this age.
Always interesting to try these kind of wines. Thank you Sean for sharing this with me.
Needs 3 hours to open up properly and show the complexity.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
14% alcohol by volume.

Solid mid price Barolo. Plenty of spice with deep tannins. — 2 days ago
Rare Napa Cab from me to celebrate Joe and Kamala’s big win. Big wine with chewey tannins and light oak which I prefer. Dark fruit with a bit of cigar box going on and a long finish. Major knock is that it’s a hot finish (15% alcohol). All in all not bad. Here’s to hopefully ending these moronic wine tariffs! 🥂 — 21 days ago
