Bacigalupi Vineyard Petite Sirah 2014

One of the best random picks I’ve made this year. Dark purple in color. This was very balanced with good tannins but less acidity than I usually expect with Petite Sirah. Tons of dark fruit with a hint of oak the first day. It had more refined grassy and floral notes the 2nd day. I’ll be looking to purchase more. — 18 days ago

Double Black

Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Paso Robles California in a bottle. A supple, spicy, sweet delicate dark berry smell, with a deep purple opaque color. Legs, babe. Legs. Soft, supple, medium-bodied, fruit forward gem that has shot to the top of my list. — a month ago

Pineapple Cider

I can’t believe this came up! On a mission to see what’s the most random item I can find here now! 😱Not wine, but a great #Texas cider for a casual evening or #bbq with friends! It’s as good as taking a great big ol’ bite into a delicious slice of a fresh pineapple 🍍! I paired this with Laura Akin’s new Book, “Live in Love - Growing Together Through Life’s Changes,” and Brooks & Dunn 🎶! Haha, I had fun with this rating! Enjoy✨ #TEXASForever — 19 days ago

Fino Jarana Very Dry Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Palomino Fino

Salty, fresh, and different. This wine is ever-evolving, and always pleasing. Unlike any other style of wine this fino is at the top of its class. Like taking a shot of lemon juice out of an oyster shell. Its flinty nose and chalkiness, leads into a citrus based mid-palate with dehydrated yellow apple skin, and lemon for days. Mouthwatering and thought provoking, one of the best finos I’ve had in a while — a month ago

James Halliday

Hunter River Traminer Riesling 1979

Actually a cleanskin of the Lindemans bin 5687 Traminer Riesling and I am not sure if the Riesling was instead a semillon at that stage.
The wine was absolutely past its peak, but had some freshness and a long after taste.
Bought on auction from James Halliday' cellar collection.
1979 was a great vintage in Hunter Valley
Surely happy I tried, but not the greatest.

After 4 hrs I go back on the remaining half btl of the wine which was left unattended on the kitchen bench with a random cork inserted since its own obviously crumbed at the opening.
Well, don't ask me, but the wine has opened up aromas earlier hidden of white chocolate, macadamia, hay, ginger, apricot jam, a bountiful of flowers, lemon grass, English breakfast tea and so much more. Not so sweet at all and very enjoyable now. Definitely something I might not be able to experience again perhaps.

@Ceccherini Cristiano Great experimentation Cec. There would be some hidden gems in Halliday’s huge cellar.

@Bob McDonald I feel like I will pour some in the sink😄😄, but the good ones are going to be unforgettable. I did get some old whites from the Hunter that might be fireworks...or not😅
