The recently released (as of late 2023) 2017 Rodgers Creek Syrah from Ramey is a beautiful dusty ochre with a rich, sweet nose of plum and vanilla. It’s soft, Smokey, earthy, full of dark fruit and some tart tannins that will mellow over time. Another excellent Rodgers Creek! — a month ago
Medium lemon color with aromas of stone and citrus fruits and floral spice notes. On the palate flavors of apple, melon and orange citrus, vanilla and toasty spice, rich texture. Medium+ finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit, toasty spice and savory chalky mineral character. Nice! — 5 months ago
Ramey’s interpretation of #claret is quite interesting. After 9 years of bottle time it’s aged more than expected. Stewed plum, quite faint dark fruit on the nose. Prominent acidity on palate, primary fruit exited stage left, some sherry notes but still noticeable tannins. 68% #cabernetsauvignon, 18% #merlot, 6% #syrah, 4% #malbec, 4% #petitverdot — 2 months ago
