Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Cerasuolo 2009

Give a ring if there's anything else like it as a rose
It mingles with light reds easily, but has the fun part of a fresh rose with the complexity that unfolds over and over
The elegance is somewhere between a Volnay and a Barolo
Cola, raspberries, sweet tobacco, white choc, salted caramel, mou, forest floor, mushroom and slightly grillée
Nearly fizzy when opened
It was worth the wait
A star!!

@Travis W somewhere here in Melbourne i have seen Valentini Trebbiano and Montepulciano (very expansive, but absolutely mind blowing), but never the cerasuolo which IMO is one of the best rose ever🤫

Also too, due to some unnecessary lockdowns, some of my bottles are going to go on auction soon...🤞wish me luck🙂

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC 2019

Bright ruby red with an explosive nose of blueberries, cherries, licorice and fresh flowers. Medium bodied on the palate, dark cherries blackberry jam and violets rose a wave of acidity and cling to your cheeks with soft, subtle tannins. The finish is soft, fruity and light! — 21 days ago

Cherry pits, raspberries, mineral. Much better closer to room temp. Tannic grip closer to a red wine. Long and complex 🔥 — 19 hours ago

This a great wine if you don’t want to spend money but have a great dinner.
Crushed violets, mint and strawberry on the nose.
Plum, blackberry and cherry. A bit spicy with lively acidity and a juicy finish.

Definitely one of my most memorable wine experiences. Incredible nose, wonderful flavor and impressive length. Reminds me of Valentini and Pepe. Love this wine.
