Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc

Dry Creek Vineyard

Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Dry Creek Vineyard, with more more than 50 years of history and tradition in Dry Creek Valley, is one of Northern California’s most consistent and excellent producers of Sauvignon Blanc. This is the unmasked version, and there is a slightly richer, very lightly packed version called FumêBlanc. Crisp pear, green apple, yellow apple, grapefruit, gooseberry, passion fruit… this wine is a summary of all the main characteristics of the grape. Refreshing acidity, beautiful balance and bargain priced - just terrific — 2 days ago

Napa County Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Lime-zest and grapefruitjuice, gooseberry, coriander leaf, hints of acaciahoney and catpee. Fruitpunch!
Joyous and dangerously easy-drinking. Very nice.

L'arpent des Vaudons Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Pale yellow with aromas of ripe white stone and citrus fruits with dried floral grassy notes, aged on lees for 5 months. On the palate flavors of rich apple and lemon with crisp acidity and pronounced mineral notes. Medium+ finish, ending with creamy citrus, herb and flinty mineral character. Good now and will improve over next several years! — 16 days ago

Soliloquy Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Light golden in color with a yellow tint.

Strong nose of gooseberry, limes, grapefruits, light earth, green apples, spices, grass and light sea salt.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity. Crisp and refreshing.

Dry on the palate with limes, grapefruits, citrus, green apples, bitter herbs, light vegetables, light tropical fruits, spices, earth and white pepper.

Long finish with light almonds and spices.

This is a delicious Sauvignon Blanc based blend from Napa Valley.

Easy drinking and good by itself or with food. Has a light creamy feel, which is very enjoyable.

Nicely balanced and tangy, with a soft mouthfeel.

Showing nice complexity, which you don't usually see at this young age. I can see it getting even better in the next 3 years.

I had it all by itself by the pool.

A blend of 73% Sauvignon Blanc, 12% Chardonnay and 13% Malvasia. Aged for 7 months in used French oak barrels. A small production of 600 cases.

14.2% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

Pouilly-Fumé Sauvignon Blanc 2020

The nose is really superb, between bright notes of fruit (citrus fruits, apricot stones), barrel notes. Lively mouth, beautiful minerality, gunstone, notes of onion, poultry. Balanced, well-built body. Superb finish also, bringing together the tasting bouquet. Nice pleasure!

Beau plaisir!

Saracina

Lolonis Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Nose has under-ripe peach, lemon zest, cold chalk and wet beach sand.

Palate has pineapple core, dried lemon, sea spray and dehydrated peach.

Nice balanced acidity, no real herbal notes to speak of, a different expression than the traditional style. This wine should have a long life ahead, drink 2024-31.

The inaugural, single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc for Saracina from the Lolonis Vineyard; possibly some of the oldest SB vines in the US, planted in 1942.

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our conductor Andris Nelsons and pianist Paul Lewis collaborate on the third of three concerts encompassing all five of Ludwig van Beethoven’s piano concertos in one weekend. Today's program includes OGONEK (Starling Variations, 2022; world premiere), FARRENC (Symphony No. 3 in G minor, Opus. 36) and BEETHOVEN (Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat, Opus 73, Emperor). This weekend has been an auditory pleasure, enjoying all five of Beethoven's piano concerti, and what a finale today!

@Douglas Braun @Andrew Schirmer Yes, a great weekend. But the most amazing footnote, Paul Lewis has played all 5 piano concertos this weekend without the benefit of sheet music, all memory! Plus I'm thinking might be the first soloist to perform with the BSO for 3 days continuously. We've not had a weekend of great music like this since we got all three acts of Wagner Die Walküre in one epic weekend several years back! (I had to take the next day off, we dedicated the weekend to a lot of Riesling.)
(I had to check my calendar to make sure which pieces were exhibited. 🤦‍♂️)

Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2020

This is a very tasty Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley.

Lighter on the nose and dry on the palate, with medium plus acidity.

Showing limes, citrus, green apples, grapefruits, light earth and white pepper.

Showing nice complexity with a soft mouthfeel. Juicy and entertaining.

Better on the palate and simpler the nose.

Nicely balanced, crisp and refreshing, and good by itself or with food. A good party wine too.

I paired it with fresh oysters.

Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Pop and pour. A breathtaking light straw color. On the nose: green apple, pear, lime, touch of banana. Taste: soft, juicy wine with lemon, grass, honeydew melon, chalky minerals, and a metallic grapefruit. Nothing special, may need a little more time. Cheers! — 11 days ago

This presents a steep slope in both directions in terms of character and presence. Bright, mineral-driven and just the right amount of acidity and sweetness establishes this as a benchmark in the category. — 10 days ago

@Jonathan Wall, sometimes, extraordinary things happen without construction. But I was so impressed with this vintage, I went and purchased more today.
@Deborah M, glad you enjoyed the visit. I’d like to visit one day, too.
