Toasty plum and rye with cedar hinting at mascarpone-mint, boasting bright blueberry, dry blackberry and raisin-currant melange; withered hibiscus. Decidedly grape-y on the nose and into a mouthful of red currant, dried cranberries, green tea, pencil, cinnamon bark, savory, plus a salted black plum, and baked cranberry. This one has had oxygen exposure for 7 days, but is still wound up. Hold this one for a ten year minimum in my opinion. It was good yesterday, but better today. It shall not live to see tomorrow. Honestly built and spectacular in the making. #keenan #robertkeenanwinery #keenancab #napacabs #napacab #cab #cabernetsauvignon #cabsauv #sainthelena #springmountaincabernet #springmountaindistrict #springmountain #mountainfruit #mountainwine #sustainablyfarmed #sustainable #solarpoweredwine — 2 days ago
Nice Bordeaux blend. A dark garnet red color. A mild-moderate nose: black cherry red fruit, sweet age cab perfume with noted scents of stewed meat, cedar and subtle menthol at the end. Taste is a luscious, juicy, dark-tart cherry full body wine. Minerals, tar and cocoa-espresso notes float around. Graphite, blackberry and caramel like finish—long and satisfying. A complex structure and dense wine giving its multi-layers of taste. A definite favorite and a great wine to celebrate my birthday today! — 4 days ago
Wow! 😳 this is perfect with the leg of lamb. Color is medium garnet with tawny peeking in at the edges. The nose is still bright cherry with a hint of mushroom. Palate continues with cherry, adds some cranberry/currant, and berry. The fruit is lively for its age. More so than the 2001 from memory. This is so smooth and easy. Love this. — 4 days ago
Napa cab night - very very good - totally impressed - love all Mr Smith wines
A classic big bold beautiful wine - from a vineyard right next to the famous Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard - amazing Juice with the textures, verve and anise undertones of its prestigious neighbors. Dark garnet to the rim with a slight purple hue, the clarity of this wine shows off its overall brightness, purity and depth- smells of dark and red raspberries so strong you don't even have to put your nose to the glass - this is definitely mid palate that is filled with spice box, herbs of Provence and mocha, setting the stage for rollercoaster of complexities and multi-level layers - true cornucopia of cool-toned red/blue fruits, graphite and coffee undertones - 2011 is balanced, on point, long and focused - the subtle nuances and hidden layers are so evident

👁 Nice clarity, medium ruby hue, pink rim variation, strong tearing. No sediment.
👃 Nose is clean and offers medium intensity red fruit notes that are ripe and jammy, such as cherry, strawberry-rhubarb, plum, along with spicy notes, such as dark baking spices, vanilla, and some green, herbaceous elements. Aromas are developing.
👄 palate is dry, medium acidity, medium+ tannins, high alcohol, medium+ body, with medium red fruit and baking spice notes, which are consistent with the nose. Medium+ finish with lingering flavors and warmth.
Love this producer - Grgich Hills Estate, Napa Valley, Zinfandel. Especially love the Chardonnays, but this was a balanced Zinfandel from Napa. Co-founder of this estate (Miljenko “Mike” Grgich) also crafted the ‘73 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay that won the 1976 Judgement of Paris. Vintage 2015. ABV 14.9%. Made with organic grapes 🍇 Enjoying it as a complement to brats and Brussels sprouts on the grill. — 8 days ago
Pyrazines and piney cherries thread the nose on this delightful bottle. Full licorice and unripe blackberry mouth. Not as complex over the palate as I would hope, but still a decent steak wine on ground budget. Strong tannins build quickly and succinctly finish. Better balance and complexity than their single variety cab. — 2 days ago
Napa cab night - just Incredible and a 2011
Deep ruby color throughout with pretty slow forming legs. Nose of red and black fruit with licorice and incense. Opening of black fruit favoring black cherry and black plum with licorice and great minerality of granite & wet stones. Medium-full bodied with average acidity and smooth, almost sweet tannins - I LOVED IT — 5 days ago
Corison after Ribcap into dark chocolate...good all around.
This was fast tracked in my tertiary storage. Meaning, it is more advanced than if I had stored it my EuroCave’s.
It is well resolved. Yet, still has plenty of life.
Beautiful, bright, lush, ripe fruits of; blackberries, black raspberries; black cherries, strawberries, plum, raspberries with cherries over the top. Soft limestone minerals, tarry notes, expresso roast, underbrush, soft leather, cedar to wood shavings, moist clay, understated baking spices; clove, nutmeg, cinnamon & vanillin, dark spice with well pronounced heat, mocha, caramel, hints of tree sap/bark, sage, Provenance herbs, brilliant florals of; purple, violets & soft lavender. The acidity is near perfect. The finish is elegant with perfect polish and persists softly. — 6 days ago
A blend that usually includes Syrah and merlot....this year 80% cabernet and 20% cab franc...a 2nd wine that got more cab this year since 1st wine from one of the vineyards did not get produced.
2 hour decant (little sediment). A majestic inky purple color. On the nose: dark cherry, vanilla wafer, floral, pepper, cinnamon chocolate. Taste: A medium body, fresh, juicy wine with dark plum, spice, cassis, cedar, with a raspberry mocha medium plus finish. No need to wait, drinking well now with a decant. — 7 days ago
Napa cab night - ok I am cheating a little - this is so good - Consisting of 84% Cab Sauv, 8% Merlot and 8% Cab Franc- sweet plum drops and incense aromas - medium-full bodied and very smooth with blackcurrant, cassis, dark fruits on the palate - So nicely integrated tannins and a long, dark finish that is silky smooth long finish - delicious — 5 days ago
