Give this wine at least 3 hours of air before consuming. Like all Sagrantino, this is one of the most tannic wines in the world. The 2013 was just ready to drink now, with the intense tannins smoothed out and perfectly balanced with the intense attack. This wine needs steak. — 16 days ago

Nose is vaguely tomatoey
Palate is sweet. A hint of tomato. But has this intense sweet grapiness that is super intense and quite delicious.
A bit alcohol.
Still tannic. — 17 days ago
Smells a bit hot. Oh no. Some licorice and black fruits but def an ethanol thing going. But not on the palate where it is supple and elegant. Really refined and delicate. Hope the nose clears up. At the right temp. Complex. Little heat on the finish but lovely concentration and good fruit quality. Great length. Let’s see how this integrates — a month ago
Vintage 2010 | 3/4 transparant, awesome bouquet: red berries, cherries, leather, espresso, rosemary. After aeration the smell is like a peacock tail, beautiful expressions, multi layered. Powerful taste with a hint of almond bitters, lots of potential. Beautiful Sangiovese. Paired with risotto al funghi and parmiggiano. — a month ago
