Well aged Sagrantino. Dark ruby color. Beautiful nose of mushroom, mossy wet soil, cooked plums, dried rose petals and cedar. Palate is still fruit forward, noting concentrated and ripe cherry/raspberry/cranberry/blackberry flavors along with notes of black pepper, black licorice and dried sage leaves. Lighter in body than I would have predicted and the tannins have beautifully mellowed. Actually quite elegant, delicate and refined.
