HAPPY Thanksgiving! A Burgundy Thanksgiving part 1. Oysters overnight from Hog Island Oysters!
Double decant and pour. A irresistible pale straw color. On the nose: lemon, floral, toasted almonds, pear, vanilla. Taste: A rich, creamy, big wine with citrus, minerals, spicy oak, crushed stone, and a long honey peach dry finish. Great start. Cheers! — 8 days ago
The actual wine I purchased and photographed is Bouchard Pere & Fils Grand vin de Bourgogne RULLY, 2017. The wine good. It is drinking crisply right now. 100 % Chardonnay from their vynards at Bochard's Chateau De Beaune in COTE D'OR.
Everything about the wine from nose, color and palete is as it should be. Probably remain same or improve for a year or two. — 12 days ago
Nice acidity with some width to it and a little bit of richness, a delicious finish on pears mostly. Good bottle but lacks the zip of the best Perrières.
Beau vin sans être dans la même classe que les meilleurs Perrières, belle acidité et une bouche assez ample avec un peu de richesse, belle finale sur les poires. 90-91 — 7 days ago
This wine is definitely worth the price. Rich berry jam aromas, strong terroir presence pulls it all together. Vanilla, blueberry/cherry/raspberry flavors fade quickly to an minerally funk. Delicate tannin balances the light body and low acid on this easy drinker. Wouldn't hesitate to buy again — 16 days ago
Thanksgiving 2020; a quiet day with just my wife and the kitties, hopefully 2021 brings family and dear friends back for group enjoyment of this Holiday.
Nose has mashed cherries, moist garden soil, red raspberry smeared on old leather, blackcurrant, currant leaves, ripe plum and old tobacco.
Palate has black cherry, plum, cedar box, under-ripe blackberry, under-ripe blackcurrant, dry soil with iron, dried cherry but still with solid tannins. Medium acidity with a long finish.
Likely the best bottle of Domaine Camus Père & Fils we've had, in stellar shape with at least a solid decade in front of it, wow! — 8 days ago
