Le Trou Du Diable

Xavier Vignon

Arcane XV Le Diable Mourvedre 2015

On the nose sweet, spicy, exotic and jammy. Dark fruit, cloves, black pepper, a touch of well oiled leather & sandalwood. Seductive.
On the palate this is surprisingly fresh, lively & savoury - finely polished tannins and juicy acidity define the frame, with meaty fresh & stewed black fruit filling it nicely. Nice purity & definition. This is a very nice wine!

De Tutoyer Le diable Red Blend 2018

A blend of mondeuse, gamay and pinot noir blend with roasted plum, licorice, wet forest floor and some charred salinity on the nose and cherries, baking spices, cinnamon, star anise and dried kokum on the palate. This is a bold wine at 11.5 % alcohol. Pair with fatty and buttery dishes. — a year ago

Terrasse du Diable Gigondas Red Rhône Blend 2009

Les Pailleres Gigondas kicking ass as always. I hope the popularization of Gigondas as CDP prices go up does not kill Gigondas as a killer value. — 7 months ago

Côtes du Ventoux Red Rhone Blend 2016

Had at trou normand with matt before going to st Regis for the night in sf. I really really liked it at 40/btl. Strawberry fruit without sweet — 3 years ago

Jean François Ganevat

"Seau-Trou les Corvées" Vin de France Red Blend

This Trousseau of Ganevat (negotiant) is now in a great shape. This is really fun on a summer evening. A mixture of red fruits (raspberries, strawberries), roses and a light spice. On the palate it is also redberried, with lots of freshly ground black pepper. With its 12.5% alcohol rather light to medium weight, medium+ acidity, and little tannin. Nevertheless the wine has a nice definition and is incredibly drinkable and animating. This is not a great wine, but very lively and multi-faceted. A pleasure! — 4 months ago

Domaine les Pallières

Les Racines Gigondas Red Rhone Blend 2016

A beautiful fresh lush dark-tinged Grenache piece (with little dollops of Syrah, Cinsault, and Clairette). Partnership between Kermit Lynch and the Brunier family (of Vieux Telegraphe fame) to revive a declining 500 year old winery. The results are wonderful. Besides the aforementioned fruit, there is a vibrant cut to the palate, old vine savoriness, dusty flowers, spice, and a layer of smoke/mineral. You’ll want some game meats with this, trust me. @Delectable Wine this is the Les Racines, NOT Terrasse du Diable. — 2 years ago
