Give a ring if there's anything else like it as a rose
It mingles with light reds easily, but has the fun part of a fresh rose with the complexity that unfolds over and over
The elegance is somewhere between a Volnay and a Barolo
Cola, raspberries, sweet tobacco, white choc, salted caramel, mou, forest floor, mushroom and slightly grillée
Nearly fizzy when opened
It was worth the wait

This Prosecco carries a light yellow tint and aromas of apples, pears and peaches - dressed up in citrus minerality. The bubbles disappear completely in a minute. On the palate, a racy acidity will be quite noticeable if you have bitten your tongue lately. The red apple flavor joins the stone fruit and cherry in a very pleasant combination. The finish is medium lengthy and fully enjoyable, as it brings back that minerality. — 2 days ago
Great drinking window about 10 years old. The usual and then the maturity kisses it with char and olives. Perfect with home Italian night of sautéed pasta (non tomato based… all the other good stuff… because sometimes the tomato steals too much show, even from the wine). — 3 days ago
Nose has smoked blueberry syrup, over-ripe blackberry, wet roses, soaked raisins, finely chopped green herbs, muddy garden and incidental alcohol.
Palate has blueberry/blackberry jam, wow acidity, medium++ tannins, red velvet cake, incredible intensity on the dark fruits, notable acidity, juicy juicy blackberry, black currant; if this was ever labeled as a crunchy fruit Sagrantino, it fits the description perfectly.
Opened for slow oxidation of 6H then +3H decant, expect this to show better tomorrow or following days. Paired to local beef short ribs (Kinderhook Farm; Valatie, NY) in an Asian-style braising sauce, plated on top of Parmesan polenta, so yum.
100% Sagrantino, unmistakable. Revisit 2025-2030, wowzer. — 11 days ago
This Italian bubbly produces a thick, festive foam. The nose brings a floral element to match up with lemon, lime and grapefruit aromas. On the palate, a nice apple flavor meets the citrus. It is a sweet taste and the finish follows the same way. Fun and frolicking Prosecco. — 13 days ago
We’ve tried and loved La Spinetta wines before and so we had to open this Vermentino on National White Wine Day! @la_spinetta
It is a pale lemon hue. It offers a bouquet of vibrant, youthful aromas including honeydew, white peach, mandarin orange, grapefruit peel, passion fruit, honeysuckle, jasmine, almond, mineral, and sea breeze notes.
On the palate this wine is dry. It has medium(+) acidity, a medium body, medium alcohol, and present albeit less intense notes on the palate that are otherwise consistent with the nose. The finish is medium.
This wine is clean, offers intensity on the nose, elegance on the palate, with equal parts flavor, acidity, and alcohol to form a well-balanced wine that is positively delightful.
La Spinetta, Toscana Vermentino IGT, Italy, Vintage 2020, ABV 13%.
