Very cool surprise. 1st time tasting a Gran Canaria wine and ditto Listan Negro. Translucent bright ruby that fades into a burnt orange rim. Sexy spiced red cherry and plum and breathy, dank cigar smoke on the nose. Transitions smoothly into dashes of ground pepper, worn leather, and brandy-braised orange and red fruit on the palate. High acid. Tannins are hard to describe, coming in late and light, but toothsome. Lots to think about here and huge QPR value. — 20 days ago
Deep ruby hue. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, cherry, earthy, eucalyptus, licorice, plum, and violet. Medium-plus body, with full, grainy tannins and medium-plus acidity. Engaging nose, smooth palate, long finish. A solid, well-made Rioja that's drinking beautifully now. Blend of Tempranillo (95%) and Graciano (5%). — 17 days ago
Raspberry, white pepper, schist... and bracingly bright acidity. Be prepared for a crunchy wine. Good news, this biodynamic wine doesn’t fall apart after being opened a day or two. Serve with roasted chicken... perfect. 12.5% ABV
Note: this label will never work on the shelf. — a month ago
A bit to heavy largered; dark 14%. Plums, leather and licorice root. — 5 days ago
Regal. Quiet quality. Nose is big - suggesting high alcohol, with spice, earth, and figs. The palate is satin smooth, med bodied, with powdery tannins binding the primary blackcurrant and dark cherry fruit. Classic power without weight. A twist of fig at the back end. Glorious with Ottolenghi spiced lamb. Yes. — 21 days ago
Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.
Strong nose of blueberries, black currants, black cherries, wood, licorice, light vanilla, spices, light vegetables, tobacco, coffee, light vinaigrette and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with raspberries, cherries, blueberries, cloves, oak, tobacco leaf, vanilla, spices, espresso, vegetables, earth and peppercorn.
Medium finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a great surprise. This 16 year old Spanish red is drinking very nicely now.

Thank you David and Elvira for sharing this with me.

This 8 year old Chianti Classico is drinking very nicely now.
Showing red and blue fruits with earth, vegetables, tar, herbs, oak, spices, light vanilla, peppercorn and wet leaves.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Nice length on the finish with round tannins.
Spicy and interesting to drink by itself.
Well balanced with nice complexity and nice structure.
Needs an hour to open up properly and show off.
Good by itself and better with food. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

Nice balance of red fruit black cherry with some earth mineral tones and a slight touch spice — 5 days ago
This was dynamite and fun. Big 3L, shared amongst friends all weekend each nite after a day of drinking razor acids white at FLX. Dried fruits, extremely floral, black tea, leather, sweet/sour cherries, sandalwood, dried leaves..tannins smooth but clearly there and high acid to wash it away. Changed every nite..delicious! — 21 days ago
