This clear yellow wine pours up very slightly frizzante, with a small collection of tiny bubbles clinging to the glass. On the nose there is a sweet apricot aroma mixed with a delicate blend of herbs and minerals. Those minerals drive the palate, which is exquisitely citrus. Blinded by the light. There’s something ineffable about this blend of three grapes, that has seamlessly woven them together to be greater than the sum of its parts. Like an antique glass window shining in the evening sunlight, 48% Friulano, 41% Ribolla Gialla, and 11% Chardonnay meld into a synesthesia of sunlight, burbling mountain stream and white flowers. Pear skin, lemon pith, grapefruit and wet stones soar through a gorgeous arc, with small bursts of chamomile. 75 % Friulano, 24 % Ribolla Gialla , 1 % Picolit.
Winery established in 1559. Sandstone and marl soil. Stainless steel vats then the wine is rested 6 months on it’s lees for an amazing texture.
A nose of lemon balm, Asian pear and citrus rind.
Great mouth feel with flavours of golden apple, honey and pink grapefruit with a distinct minerality and acidity on the long finish.
We had ebi dashi kimchi hot pot with fresh shucked whole oysters thrown in.
A great match.

Fruit juicy co-fermentation...85% Sangiovese 15% Fruilano. Early heat wave at Michigan Lake house... slight chill, tempted to break out the ice cubes. Tannic grip on finish, strawberry/fruit punch aromas... nice bright acidity. Very unusual, but fun... can imagine this as a yummy slushee. — a month ago

🍇2019 Ronco del Gnemiz Friulano San Juan
Enchanting and thrilling with a lovely texture. Somehow it reminds me of a mix of a white Burgundy and high quality Sancerre. A wine that is right up my alley. Serve it at 12 degrees in a generous Burgundy glass. Serve it with something tasty. 

Good concentration on the nose that opens up with some green apples, grape fruit and elder flower that is soon overtaken by richer characters of juicy peaches, orange and honey. Toasted nuts and a pronounced crushed fruit mineralogy brings further complexity.
Full bodied and a generous entry with a balancing fresh acidity. Pronounced fruit concentration and strong mid palate yet with a slime waste and lovely salty texture that brings nerve and tension through a very solid finish. Well Done!
