Primarily Cab Sauv, but some Merlot (16%) along with slight amounts of Cab Franc, Malbec and Petite Verdot are added. Clearly defined aromas and flavors of dark cherry, blackberry, plums, wet stones and earth. Big and Sweet vanilla notes on the long finish. Nicely structured with good balance of tannins and acidity. — 21 days ago
Ok to buy again. Heavy tobacco — 2 months ago
Probably a year or 2 away from optimal. And this one is 16 years young. Nose of lightly toasted oak, dark chocolate, blackberry. Entry showing just about zero signs of age. Blackberry, tobacco, fig, hint of smoke. Still has lots of acidity throughout. Finishes with darker notes. Dusty tannin. Really amazing how this one IMO is still on the youthful side of the curve and still on the upswing. Really nice wine, but if you have this one it will probably be at the top of the hill in 2 or 3 years. — 21 days ago
Favorite AHF vineyard — a month ago
Have several ‘15, decided to open 1. Located halfway up the hill dominating principal valley of Barolo, lined by vineyards, lies a precious 15th century Abbey of Annunziata. Medium Ruby with complex aromas of ripe berry fruits and fresh floral scents. On the palate the palate cherry, tobacco and fresh herbs give this full-body wine grace and elegance. Soft fine tannins on a well balanced frame makes this wine enjoyable today as well as have room to run over the next decade. 50th Anniversary! — 24 days ago
