Sainte Anne Brut Champagne Blend

Delectable Wine
9.2

The NV Brut Cuvée Ste.-Anne is one of the best Champagnes readers will find in its price range, or any price range, for that matter. Bright and beautifully focused, the Ste.-Anne has so much to offer. The purity of the flavors is just remarkable. If anything, it needs more time on the cork to soften, as it is quite reticent at this stage. This release is based on 2017, with reserve wines from 2016 and 2015. The blend is 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier, with the Chardonnay very much in evidence at this stage. Dosage is 5.15 grams/liter. Disgorged: February, 2020. Domaine Georges Vernay

Sainte-Agathe Côtes du Rhône Syrah 2014

Dark garnet in color, nose of some earth & leather. After just a little air it was wonderful- on the lighter side for a Syrah. On the dry side, mildly acidic with medium tannins. Very smooth- a really nice wine. — 2 months ago

Very drinkable value wine. Grenache Syrah blend. Unsweet, slight bitterness from peels and stems blending nicely with tannins and juicy, but not overripe fruit. Deep cranberry purple color. 2016 vintage . I would buy this again to have on hand for dinner. Complements meaty, hearty food. — 2 months ago
