2019 vintage Saint-Emilion Grand Cru. Calicem is produced from a small vineyard (less than one hectare) adjacent to Grand Cru Classé Couvent des Jacobins whose owner bought it in 2015. It was planted in 1961/1962 with 100% Merlot from old clones.and it is vinified separately from Couvent des Jacobins (first vintage 2015).This beautiful 2019 is made in microscopic quantities (2188 bottles) with the "vinification intégrale" method which leads to a more gentle extraction and better wood integration. Winemaker Denis Pomarède and consulting oenologist Thomas Duclos did a great job in crafting a beautifully balanced wine with extraordinary elegance, purity, silky tannins and a long finish with an intriguing minerality. Don't expect a blockbuster, this is all about subtlety. Very impressive Saint-Emilion of Premier Grand Cru Classé quality, well worth trying to grab a bottle. Abv. 14,5 %. — 4 years ago

Bright and exciting with plenty of structure, fruit and beauty to cellar a few more year but why, enjoy!!! — 2 years ago
2016 vintage. 62% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark red with some orange evolution on the rim. Raspberries and cedar wood , with truffles lurking in the background. Medium-bodied, with slightly jammy red fruit. The tannins are not as velvety as both the 2020 and 2022, but still there is a good balance, complexity and length. Maybe closing down a bit, the future will tell. However, I don't see this ever reaching the level of the 2020 and certainly not 2022. Outperformed by the 2016 Couvent des Jacobins tasted alongside.

Plum rich. Japanese Umebishi. Later on, changed into juicy, cherry. Good match with Japanese style of grilled sea eel. Philippe Chéron Reserve du Couvent Les Jumelles Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2019 @1280, domaine -, 220629-220715 — 4 years ago
Fruit forward and big. Juicy but not too sweet. Great by itself. — 4 years ago

Very solid village Vosne. Quite plush and concentrated mouthfeel for a Burg, with fruit towards the darker spectrum and characteristic spice of Vosne. Med acid and fine tannin. — 4 months ago
Cherry, tobacco, and blueberry. Light bodied but still rounded and bold. I like this, would love to pair with a lamb chop. — a year ago
Opened and double-decanted earlier in the morning. The 1982 pours a slightly more orange/garnet color. On the nose, the wine is vinous with rather heady notes of cherry lozenges, coffee, herbal, Jack’s Supreme Pizza, menthol, purple flowers and leather. On the palate, the wine is dry with solid structure still. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and on the richer side. To me, this was one of the huge surprises of the evening, more than keeping up with the thoroughbreds. Drink now. — 2 years ago
Gentle and calm aroma with concentration and forest like. Solid structure. Plum, blueberry. Tannic. Acidic. Enough decanting like 2 hours is necessary. Domaine du Couvent Clos du Meix des Ouches Monopole Gevrey Chambertin Pinot Noir 2020 @2800, domaine, 230701 — 3 years ago
Vintage 2915 | Biowine. Obvious very young, dark colour with redbrown rim. I was attracted by the beautiful smell with many layers: pencil shaving, leather, tobacco and even roses. Way too young to be drunk but the potential is very clear. To put away in the cellar, far away in a cellar. — 4 years ago
