And he’s doing a great job with these wines. This is not a heavy-handed Chardonnay at all. Very enjoyable

Tenuta Sette Ponti

Crognolo Toscana Super Tuscan Blend 2017

Grabbed another bottle! Estate of Sette Ponti lies in the heart of the Chianti zone, 15 miles northwest of the city of Arezzo, past the village of San Giustino Valdarno. Crognolo, aged in French Allier barriques, deep Ruby with red fruit aromas and floral notes. On the palate blackberry and sweet cherry flavors, blossom notes, spice and fine dusty tannins. Good balance, long finish ending with some oak and mineral tones. Nice! Try in 2022 or decant for an hour first. — a month ago

Domaine du Pegau

Cuvée Réservée Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2007

Hit this one right in the zone. Grenache is super aromatic, fruit is fully integrated and soft tannins but enough to hold it together. Yum. — 7 days ago

Gomersal

Shiraz 2012

Showing brilliance at 8 years.
You really need to be in the mood for a deep and dark Barossa Shiraz.
Once you get in the zone this wine is epic.

Pacific Rim

Columbia Valley Sweet Riesling

Really enjoyed this it’s a little out of my normal sweet wine comfort zone. But as I’m getting “older and more mature” I’m trying to venture outside my comfort of super sweet moscato wines. — 2 months ago

Jiménez-Landi

Cantos del Diablo Méntrida Grenache 2004

Effusive and elegant. Poached black plums, macerated black berries, spicecake, clove, dried rose petals, Ceylon cinnamon, star anise, cool herbs, moss, fir, gravel, leaves, leather and a kiss of cured meat. Big time deliciousness right here, just enough heady richness balanced by wonderful whole cluster perception of tannin and acid. Love the development, in the zone for my palate. There’s some serious wine in the glass right now. — 2 days ago

Barbera d'Alba Barbera 2017

Treiso zone of Barbaresco. White marl, clay-calcareous alternated with sand. Southeast exposure. Aged in large oaks, stainless steel and concrete vats for 1.5 years after harvest. Such an elegant Barbera, extremely aromatic boutique of rose, herbs and spices. Beautiful acidity balanced by a plum jammy finish. Delicious! — 12 days ago

Quinta da Raza

Azal 2018

For $13.00 its a perfect summer time pour.

Incredibly hard to stop drinking. The lychee and mango nose is fantastic, but it's really the crunchy and tropical flavors on the finish that demand the next sip. BBQ's and pool parties could all use this juice. Soft and easy yet still mouthwatering, this is hedonism at its finest - Which is basically why we're all here, right
Located in the relatively warmer Basto sub-zone of the Vinho Verde, Quinta da Raza is making some delicious, original examples of Vinho Verde, exploring grape varieties beyond the usual array of grapes in the region. In this case, Azal is the second most widely planted varietal in Minho (Vinho Verde) region. It is unusual to see varietal bottling. This is a lip smacking wine, you can see that this varietal brings the zip to Vinho Verde blends. It is not all bracing with acidity; there are some expressive citrus and chilled tropical tones, minerality, and a faint fizz that the wines are famous for. A fun alternative to the classic blends from the region.

We exchanged notes on the K&L staff reviews. If they rave about a bottle, you can take their recco's to the bank.
