The treat of the evening. I love the mineral component. 2000 vintage is hitting its stride.

Vintage 2000 / A wine that delivers after twenty years. Refinement. Espresso. Pine scent. Mocca. Cassis. A hint of peat but above all fantastic balance.

Really gorgeous. Loads of ripe fruit but with the beginnings of secondary characteristics.

Graphite, tobacco, bruised apple. Fruit might have come out had we not drunk it so quickly!

If fruits can be fluffy, they are in this wine. Blackberries, dark cherries, dry plum, creamed raspberries, some strawberries, tea, coffee, underbrush, dry brown soil, dry pebbles, rich black soil, dry florals, grilled meats, bright acidity and long juicy dark fruit finish. Of the wines so far, this one is the most approachable.

Really beautiful bottle. At a perfect place with balance between fruit (if anything "fruit forward" for a 2000 Bordeaux, secondary elements and resolved tannins. At well under $100 in a restaurant, hard to beat!
