Monoparcelle 469 Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2019

2019; Very hot today (96°) needed cold wine relief.
Nose has under-ripe green apple, lime zest, peach, crushed lemongrass, green melon, river stones and wet chalk.
Palate has under-ripe pineapple, key lime, yellow grapefruit, under-ripe white peach, crushed limestone and faint salinity with medium acidity.

I'm familiar with this producer, but the first time seeing this single lieu-dit (Les Sentiers) selection. Very nice effort here. Double decanted with 2H rest. 93-94

Classic franc barnyard nose leads in to a really balanced and, true to its name, violet-infused wine. Subtle bit of VA brings tension and liveliness. Captures a pleasant 2018 warmth which isn’t typical Anjou but is nonetheless successful. Sweet, fuzzy, ripe berry extract and ripe tannins, a bit thick actually. Hope the sediment drops out more. Second oldest vines they have , 60 yr +
Desvignes likes a submerged cap and employs a grid with varying times and % of cluster depending on product.
N:Inky black, smashed strawberries, some coal tar, herbs, endlessly developing.Smoke & meat. echoed on the palate.
P:Light and dense at the same time, grippy. Blackberries, bright, nice acidity.
I bet w patience, this would round out nicely, crunchy now.All the dark berries.
The little brother of Les Impenitents.
Quality like this from Morgon always makes spring a bit better.

Infanticide!
But…there it was. It sang it’s siren song.
N: Big , beefy, dirty red beet, musky black cherries. Smoke and tar.
P: Black cherries, blood, iron, earth, dirt,
It’s said the Coté du Py Gamay vines are 100 years +. It shows. A knockout structured Beaujolais that’s always a fave. Delicious, if I was 40, I’d make plans to stash some away for 20 years.
A bit saved, day two, blacker and more tannic.
To quote Romain..” I love it.”!!!
