This was tricky to decant as it has a lot of super-floaty sediment that swirled around like crazy. Once decanted though, it’s excellent. Great nose of deep earthy notes (just a hint, and no more, of barnyard), deep ripe fruit. In the mouth it’s soft, deeply flavored, and buoyed along by zesty acids. Finish is lip smacking and ends on a slightly, pleasantly bitter note that balances the ripe fruit. — 20 days ago

2021 vintage. Immediately hit with heavy aromas of oak, spice, berry, and a slight hint of leather. Shockingly smooth on the palette, flavors of dark cherry, with a lingering finish and defined texture. Paired well with NC Barbecue chicken and spicy potatoes. Opened about 30min prior to service. The 2017 Clos Ste. Hune pours a pale straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing wjth beguiling notes of the perfectly ripe Comice pear, a mix of stone and tropical fruits, lemon blossom, a touch of petrol and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish lasts forever. This is unbelievably balanced and a fantastic pairing with the toro crudo. This is just at the beginning of what’s sure to be a very long drinking window. Enjoy now through 2057. — a month ago
