Les Bressandes Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2018

Quintessential Beaune. Quite young, but already showing some soft edges. Cherry notes combine with cinnamon and a hint of nutmeg. This is not for the long haul, but is presenting well right now. Finishes dry, so in my mind, this requires food - Nougatine at Jean Georges. — 2 days ago

Domaine Bernard Baudry

La Croix Boissée Chinon Cabernet Franc 2018

Stellar. A touch of that pretty Chinon violet flower and manure funk. St. Emilion-like concentration but this isn’t inky or extracted in the least. Luxurious, satin-like texture and tannins, with a subtly sweet finish. Feels a bit higher alcohol and less acid than some of the more classic Chinon vintages, but on the basis of the massive concentration and nascent complexity this will develop very well. Young but already approachable. — 3 days ago

@Jason Gelman I’d wait a few years. Delicious now but still very primary (I opened to assess how much I want to cellar, which will be at least a half a case)

Beaune Premier Cru Pinot Noir 2016

@Delectable Wine this is the Beaune 1er. Pop and pour. A touch austere at first, but really needed air to get going. After 1.5 hrs much more giving. On the nose: a touch of game, pure wild strawberry, soft cola, a hint of stems. On the palate: fantastic acidity, savory red fruit, which complements the nose so well, brambles, and a dusting of tannin on the close...stunning with some air. — a month ago

Domaine Cecile Tremblay

La Croix Blanche Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2013

Mme Tremblay does some of the best and finest Burgundy wines these days. This one was no exception. Cherries, asian spices, mint, very fresh and balanced, no rush. Top stuff in a small vintage. — a month ago
