Château Croizet Bages

Château Lynch-Bages

Blanc de Lynch-Bages White Bordeaux Blend 2018

Star bright straw gold. Abundant and inviting nose of honeysuckle and honeyed citron. Medium light palate yields layers of orange rind, honeysuckle, dried quince, white pepper (especially on the finish), lime cream, and a host of others. All that flavor added to the medium plus acidity makes for a premier white wine for fine dining. Sturdy enough for medium cheeses or roasted poultry/pork, but with enough finesse for seafood, salads, and lighter fare. Want to experience the upper echelons of white wine without breaking $100? This is your intro. Drink now through 2025. — 21 days ago

le Haut-Medoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Oh - wow! Smooth operator as Sade herself would sing. A near perfect finish, complex and mature red fruit and that incredible French terroir on the palette. Perfect on the nose. This one will only get better with age! — 4 months ago

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2000

This like a lot of the 00’s I have tried was still youthful showing red & black fruits, cassis, cedar, leather, savory spices, lead pencil & tobacco notes. — 24 days ago

Liberal La Fleur De Haut Bages Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Slightly lighter body, good fruit, tannin a little strong but enjoyable, nicely integrated oak, tasted like partial stem to offer some vegetal notes. Really nice drinking! — 3 months ago

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

Delectable Wine

The 2018 Grand Puy Lacoste has a quintessential Pauillac nose of intense black fruit infused with graphite scents, pencil shavings and a very discreet marine influence. It is beautifully defined, less opulent than the 2018 Lynch Bages tasted alongside, yet maybe more complex. The palate is medium-bodied and taut, offering sappy black fruit, gritty tannins and a lot of crushed stone. The focused, graphite-driven finish could only come from this appellation. Superb. A wine to correct those bemoaning that Bordeaux no longer makes "proper Claret." (Neal Martin, Vinous, March 2021)

Château Lynch-Bages

Calvet & Co Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2000

Still very young but now approachable, its dark rubi robe is followed by blackcurrant, cherry kirsch, wood and soil notes. Medium bodied with great balance and freshness, it comes across as more complex and elegant than most wines of this vintage. Really excellent now if decanted prior to drinking, and with lots of potential for perhaps another 30 or 40 years in bottle. Enthusiastically recommended ! — a month ago

‎Échantillon Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend

Classic paulliac with notes of cedar, leather, mint, vanilla, blackberries, asparagus. Primary notes are receding but overall an awesome balanced wine clearly showing it’s maturity. — 2 months ago

Château Villa Bel-Air

Graves White Bordeaux Blend 2005

2016 vintage. 65% Sauvignon blanc with 35% Sémillon. At the time this estate was owned by Jean-Michel Cazes (Lynch Bages and more recently Haut-Batailley), but the current owners are the Groupe Ballande (Bordeaux négociants who also own Prieuré Lichine and Baret). Exotic fruit and a hint of flowers. Round and ripe with enough acidity in this warm vintage. Good length with impressions of vanilla. Good value. — 4 months ago
