Ah so nice to find a ‘15 vintage. This is classic Bordeaux, a little leathery and earthy, and cassis notes on the finish. I love it.

When you see Pauillac on a label, you just expect a certain amount of refinement, structure, and class. Even as a second label, this delivers. Deep dark burgundy with thin edges and light ruby accents. Such a wonderful nose full of red and purple fruit, cedar, and just the right amount of smoke. There’s also some light floral notes and trace amounts of barnyard. It needs quite a bit of air to open up but when it does it sings. Left Bank Bordeaux is almost always delightful but this is so naturally refined and elegant compared to so many of its cousins. Full bodied and lively on the tongue, there is a streak of freshness running throughout. On the palate, very pleasant plums, blackberries, and dark chocolate shine. This is a very sleek and focused wine. Power, finesse, and beauty. Not bad for a second label.

I really regret opening this and wish I had kept racked, but the fruit was bright, almost jammy. Light on tannins, alcohol medium, very smooth. Also a great French red.

Slightly lighter body, good fruit, tannin a little strong but enjoyable, nicely integrated oak, tasted like partial stem to offer some vegetal notes. Really nice drinking!
