Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

When I’m not drinking a Napa Cab, I reach for a Jordon. Blend of 80% Cab Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot & 2% Malbec, aged 13 months in 100% French oak (35% new). Deep Ruby with aromas of red fruit, floral and an array of herb spices. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry and fig with oak, vanilla spice, leather and cacao notes. Rich fine tannins, well balanced and integrated with fruit and oak. Very Nice! Will age well. Just had this with a fillet mignon, Nice! — 5 days ago

Deep ruby in color, almost purple; cassis, black cherries, and cedar on the nose; high acidity; high tannins; tastes like black plums, berry jam, and baking spices with a medium finish. Nellie says it's ok, and I like it. We both think it goes well with a steak. — 12 hours ago

Austin Hope! 2021 Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon!!!!!!!!! Delicious! This amazing wine has a beautiful bouquet that reminds me of a field of fresh lavender and lemongrass! The pallet gives us an amazing black currant, blueberry, coffee bean, as well as some chocolate and Oaky earth-tones. It has a very moderately dry finish. I just went to the winery’s webpage and ordered a case of their different wines. You must check this Hope family winery out. Excellent!!!!!!!!! — 7 days ago

It’s a decent steak wine. Not aromatic at first, needed an hour or so. Still not enough but the oak notes began to come through. Some nice fruit, black cherry, bit of spice, enough structure to counter the salt. Was very smooth while eating. — 2 days ago

2021 vintage. Last tasted 4.3.24 (9.4). Medium/medium-heavy body. Über-dark color. Some good graphite and went through the motions but approx 10 degrees too warm. Critical structure in absentia due to said warmth. Still pretty nice. 7.23.24. — a day ago

From magnum. Cork and wax were a mess. Totally disintegrated and required the coffee filter and everything just to pour and decant the wine

3 hour decant before dinner. Paired with wagyu ribeye steaks. Amazing. This wine was just balanced and smooth. Just delicious.

Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2000

2000 vintage. Never a fave L-B vintage as it has always seemed a little too much sizzle and not enuff steak. FF two decades and said wine is drinking more like a Napa cab vs a BDX. Chunky and in a state of transition (discombobulated) but still medium-heavy body after two+ decades. The 2005 is more affordable and drinking better, imho, currently. Will this effort will ever round into form for dedicated L-B fans going back to the 1985 vintage? Not tasting it. Storybook fill and cork. Decanted and tasted immediately, after 30 mins and after two hours. Aggressive sed. 7.3.24. — 19 days ago
