Burn Cottage

Moonlight Race Central Otago Pinot Noir

2020 and it’s already so drinkable and legit interesting stuff. Ripe bing cherry, but with loads of secondary stuff. Forest floor, mushrooms, etc. Love this stuff. — a month ago

Adn de Meunieur Brut Nature Champagne Pinot Meunier

First off, acidity is bonkers. Not for a group of non champagne drinkers. Sitting in the backyard with apple trees in bloom and jasmine blooming this is amazing. Smells of apples, pear, grapes, peach, but also blossoms. Palate is bigger and fruitier than I’d expect but citrus acidity dominates finish. As it lingers I get lime and salt and my mind even goes to a high end tequila without the heat or burn. Fascinating wine. Vendanges 2016/2017. Disgorged 7/9/2021. — 2 months ago

Fläscher Chardonnay 2018

Not only the best Swiss Chardonnay but worldwide. Smokey, chalky, long burn wonderful. Too little available and even less to get your hands on. Puts many burgundies to shame. — 12 days ago

Estates Roasted Oak California Red Blend

Color of dark purple. Nose of woody barrel, dark fruits, strength of alcohol, and more oaky note. Taste is smooth and sweet, low tannins, with slightly burn maybe due to being aged in oak barrel. Some more grapefruit, acidity, cocoa, spicy alcohol and sweet ripe fruits in the 2nd sip. Aftertaste definitely shows some warmth in the throat. Quite tasty at this price range. — 2 months ago

Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Grapes from small Paso Robles AVAs blocks, aged in 75% new oak for 18 mos. Dark Ruby, aromas of sweet ripe black fruits & dried smoky tobacco spices. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry, blueberry, sweet cacao, espresso & vanilla oak. A big wine, fine tannins, long fruit finish ending with vanilla overwhelming fruit. 15% ABV has slight burn. — 2 months ago

Hermitage Blanc White Rhone Blend 2019

Yes i should have waited but this was still excellent. Bit of a muted nose with citrus peel and stone. The palate is extremely fresh with citrus peel, nutty marzipan and light fruity notes. Oily almost buttery texture with a lasting salinity. Acidic without instantly giving you heart burn. Becoming a fan of Rhone Whites — a month ago
