Dull ruby. Complex red fruit and oak spice on the nose does not hint at the depths of serious savoury bite and structure on the palate. Intense, tightly packed sour dark cherry, smoky mineral notes. Real energy and power. Reminds me of Rippon. The tannins are present but at one with the savoury oak. This is serious stuff, and would only improve from here. Estate bottling is a great wine but this is up there with the best I have had from NZ (and I’ve had a bit!) Fill your boots!! — 12 days ago
Excellent bottle as expected. Touch if bret was nice — 2 days ago

My first Cabernet that I am rating. Deep ruby color and deep scents of sweet floral, tobacco and pepper. Taste is floral and raspberry, tart cherry, and just a hint of tannins. It’s like a bold black coffee compared to the light roast (Pinot Noir) I normally drink. I would buy and drink again! — 5 hours ago
Still great, 9 years after our honeymoon and visit to the winery and 15 years past vintage. — 10 days ago
It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix. This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon/Franc blend from the great 2012 vintage.
Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.
Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, peppercorn, chocolates, tobacco, herbs and coffee.
This 10 year old Single Vineyard is extracted and rich, yet elegant.
This fabulous wine is drinking wonderfully right now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
A blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Cabernet Franc and 4% Malbec. Aged for 22 months in (70% new) French Oak barrels. A tiny production of only 5 barrels.

Definitely an interesting wine, showing a bit of age, touch cloudy, a dollop of bret, the texture was great, silky and supple, the wine was pretty compelling but not quite my style. — 5 days ago
