I started my visit to Opus one with this 2017 vintage.
On nose its peppery, spices, some tobacco, leather, Dried sweet fruit, Black Cherries
On palate, its so elegant. The Acidity and Tannins, its covers your mouthfeel yet sharp and warm Napa Style carbenet. Its Long, with well balanced Intensity. Surprised how 2017 can deliver this performance. CHEERS! — 16 days ago
I think I preferred the 2015 but ever so slightly and as much as I struggle to believe glasses make a difference they poured the 2016 in a big cab glass and I think that distracted from the flavors that were evident in the tighter 2015 glass. — 18 days ago

Light gold in color.
Nice crisp nose with limes and brioche.
Light to medium in body with medium plus acidity and small bubbles.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing citrus, yeast, minerals, bread, green apples, herbs, earth, lemon juice and white pepper.
Long finish, tasty and elegant.
This 16 year old still feels very young, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Rich and well balanced.
I love this vintage of Dom Perignon. Complex and interesting. I've had this vintage it a few times before, and it is very consistent.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food. Good stuff.
12.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Pale salmon color. Notes of strawberry, grapefruit, toast and brioche. Elegant and refreshingly taut. Really tasty! I also really like Laurent Perrier Cuvée Rosé, but this is my favorite rose champagne for the price point.

Okay. Again the same dilemma. If a wine does not meet expectation is it basically bad (for me)? 🤔 because in life everything is relative, right? Any thoughts on puzzling matter??The wine was well balanced, dark red fruit flavors, polished, smooth tannins, good intensity and concentration, but limited length and lacking any meaningful complexity… Eight year old left bank Bordeaux. A fourth or fifth growth winery, maybe not, can’t remember for sure. Do remember what I paid though, $120. Definitely too much for what we experienced this evening…. as to our expectations. — 3 days ago
Beautiful wine. Slightly prefer the 1999, which I had last night. The ‘99 was musty and tasted lots of mushrooms. The ‘01 is still earthy, but fruitier. Dark fruits, with a bit of tobacco and cedar. — a month ago

Dark golden/ brownish in color.
Sweet nose with lots of flower notes, over ripen apples and spices.
Full-bodied with high acidity.
Sweet on the palate with pears, overripe citrus fruits, spices, apricots, tropical fruits, earth and bitter herbs.
Tangy finish, but too earthy for my taste.
This 34 year old is delicious, but a touch unbalanced, with too many earth notes for the fruits.
I've had a few vintages of this gorgeous wine, but none of them were this old.
I let it breathe for an hour, but it still wasn't as good as I hoped. It could just be this specific bottle, though.
A blend of 80% Sémillon and 20% Sauvignon Blanc. Drank from a 375ml bottle.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
