Domaine Alain Chavy

Puligny-Montrachet Chardonnay 2020

Medium light lemon yellow . Quite cool , citrus focused on the nose , touches of white flowers and chalk dust . Fills out well on the palate with nice lemon , white peach notes , oyster shell good balanced acidity, without any excess weight. Ok length , just a hint of toastiness on the finish. Drinking well now and over the next 5 years . — 14 days ago

Took 30 minutes to unwind, but then—luscious red fruits, toasted vanilla, ample medium body, and a grippy finish. Hoo yeah — 2 months ago

Did you really drink this at a car wash?@Doug Powers

@Peter Sultan, of course not, but Delectable (like UnTappd, the beer app I also use) has very limited “venue” apps, so, like my buddy @Severn Goodwin, who once checked in a wine at a Canadian toll booth, we all look for funny venues!! On UnTappd, I was able to create a custom venue that I use, but have never figured out how to do so on Delectable?!?!

Oh shoot, I was really starting to enjoy the image of Delectable-ites toasting with their Chinon while watching as their car gets scrubbed. All kidding aside, there was a shift on Delectable several years back I noticed when it became impossible to locate myself ( though w restaurants it works well); apparently my closest drinking venue is the synagogue across the street!@Doug Powers

Les Beaumonts Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 1998

1998 vintage. Above age-appropriate fill. Great cork. Quite a bit of sed-some chunky, some powdery. Decanted and tasted after 15 minutes, 45 minutes and 1.5 hours. Respectable color. Still medium body. Nose a mix of thin, muddy, clay earth, morels and rhubarb. Flavors all that plus some muddled raspberry and a splash of black tea. Initially, a bit shy (9.1). Started to pick up steam at the second, 45 mins open taste. By 1.5 hrs, it was rolling. Could have used another hour in the decanter (as it may have yielded a 9.4) but the grabbing hands grab all they can. It's a competitive world. Can see this going another 7-8 years without noticeable, downward change but it wouldn't surprise me to find that extended to 10-12 years. 3.20.24. — 3 months ago

Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2014

It shows quite clear GC features. Fineness but with robust. Drinkable, but much enjoyable if keeping more years. 2014 @, Fruit, 240424 — 2 months ago
