A 5th Growth from the left bank of Bordeaux, driven on 70% Cab Sauv and 30% Merlot. It has the finesse and the style of Pauillac wines. Elegant and quite complex, highly aromatic and has abundance of tannins while shining on the finish. Warm and active!
Chateau owners also have Lynch-Baches and Ormes de Pez. — 4 months ago
Spectacular We have stored this for 11 years and enjoyed it for our 5th anniversary, paired with lamb shank and lamb chops. opens beautifully perfect time to drink. Initially the finish had notes of leather, hint of dark fried fruit. — 7 months ago
A 5th Growth from the left bank of Bordeaux that never disappoints. Multi-layered, enticing aromas of red fruit, leathery and dried leaf, raising and date fruits, makes this earthy wine a nice option. Had the 2013 vintage and still delivers. Solid tannins, dry and not so aggressive on the mid-range of the palate. Silky finish. — 4 months ago
Let it breathe. Smooth. Good with steak. Ok with chocolate. Nice aroma after sitting in the glass. — 9 months ago
Special occasion bottle. Smooth, candied fruit, not too clean, warms the belly. — 2 years ago
Tasting group 5th, my rating 2nd. Mineral, Cassis. Quiet. Nicely grippy — 3 years ago

A very good left bank classed growth (5th growth) from a good vintage. Cabernet Sauvignon dominant aromatics (74%). Blackcurrant and cedar - a little tomato bush. A good wine but to state the obvious does not have the class and complexity of the higher classed growths. For example 3rd growth 2009 Chateau Palmer is a stunning wine - very rich, complex with a long life in front of it - very much superior to Chateau Batailley. — 4 days ago
